The mRNA expression profile of genes of innate immune receptors in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis

open access: yesАтеросклероз, 2015
The article covers the relevance of studying mRNA expression profile of genes of innate immune receptors, in particular genes of TLRs. The ability of TLRs to express at the surface of various cells, even at those that do not belong to the innate and ...

Augmented Hypothalamic Corticotrophin-Releasing Hormone mRNA and Corticosterone Responses to Stress in Adult Rats Exposed to Perinatal Hypoxia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Stressful events before or just after parturition alter the subsequent phenotypical response to stress in a general process termed programming. Hypoxia during the period before and during parturition, and in the postnatal period, is one of the most ...

mRNA quality control [PDF]

open access: yesScience, 2016
DNA Events DNA is packaged into chromatin, and it must be actively unpacked, or remodeled, for genes to be transcribed into mRNA. That mRNA, synthesized in the nucleus, is also packed onto proteins, forming mRNA ribonucleoparticles (mRNPs). mRNPs are then shunted into the cytoplasm. Babour et al.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Ribosome Flow Model with Extended Objects

open access: yes, 2017
We study a deterministic mechanistic model for the flow of ribosomes along the mRNA molecule, called the ribosome flow model with extended objects (RFMEO).

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

An ensemble method to predict target genes and pathways in uveal melanoma

open access: yesOpen Life Sciences, 2018
This work proposes to predict target genes and pathways for uveal melanoma (UM) based on an ensemble method and pathway analyses. Methods: The ensemble method integrated a correlation method (Pearson correlation coefficient, PCC), a causal inference ...

Ontogenic Profile of Gluconeogenic Key Enzyme Gene Expressions in Embryonic Chicken Liver and Muscle

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2013
To elucidate biochemical mechanisms underlining high plasma glucose in chicken embryo, gene expression profile of gluconeogenic key enzymes were characterized.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.
