Degradable Magnetic Composites from Recycled NdFeB Magnets for Soft Actuation and Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a degradable soft magnetic composite made from recycled NdFeB particles embedded in a gelatin‐based organogel. The material is processed into magnetic sensors and soft robotic components, which can later be dissolved in a green solvent to recover NdFeB magnetic particles.

Muscle magnetic resonance imaging in spinal muscular atrophy type 3: Selective and progressive involvement

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction In this study we sought to identify magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signs of selective muscle involvement and disease progression in patients with spinal muscular atrophy type 3b (SMA3b).

Effect of the combination of Lithospermum erythrorhizon and Lonicera japonica on dexamethasone-induced muscle atrophy in mice

open access: yesApplied Biological Chemistry
Skeletal muscle atrophy occurs in several pathological conditions. Among other reasons, high-dose or long-term administration of glucocorticoids increases circulating glucocorticoid levels and causes muscle atrophy.

Whey Peptide Alleviates Muscle Atrophy by Strongly Regulating Myocyte Differentiation in Mice

open access: yesMedicina
Background and Objectives: Muscle atrophy occurs when protein degradation exceeds protein synthesis, resulting in imbalanced protein homeostasis, compromised muscle contraction, and a reduction in muscle mass.

Piezo2 Mediates a Vicious Cycle of “Mechanical Homeostasis Imbalance—Inflammation” in Sensory Nerves and the Cartilage Endplate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In a lumbar spine instability model, dorsal root ganglion cells mediate the perception of relevant mechanical stresses through Piezo2 and subsequently release CGRP. CGRP activates the NF‐κB signaling pathway in cartilage endplate cells through the receptor RAMP1.

Leptin From Fibro‐Adipogenic Progenitor Cells (FAPs) Regulates Masseter Muscle Disuse Atrophy and Ectopic Fat Accumulation

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle
Background Excessive fat accumulation in muscles with disuse atrophy may impair muscle physiologic function and exacerbate the progression of atrophy, with causes largely unexplored.

Mesenchymal Stromal Cell‐Mediated Intercellular Communication: Mapping the Interactome for Skeletal Muscle Homeostasis and Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liu et al. define a systems‐level interactome of fibroadipogenic progenitor (FAP)‐mediated signaling in skeletal muscle by integrating single‐cell transcriptomics with FAP depletion‐based perturbation analysis. Functional interrogation using a conditioned media bioassay links predicted signaling to multicellular outcomes, establishing a framework to ...
