Disruption of Lactate Metabolism in the Peripheral Nervous System Leads to Motor‐Selective Deficits
To test the importance of lactate metabolism and shuttling between Schwann cells and neurons in the PNS, we selectively knocked out both LDHA and LDHB in motor neurons, sensory neurons, or Schwann cells. ABSTRACT Schwann cells (SCs) myelinate and provide trophic support to axons in the peripheral nervous system (PNS).

ABSTRACT Background Impaired muscle regeneration is a key contributor to age‐related muscle decline, yet the molecular mechanisms linking muscle water homeostasis to regenerative failure remain incompletely understood. Aquaporin‐4 (AQP4), a major skeletal muscle water channel, may have functions beyond water transport that are relevant to muscle ...

ABSTRACT Background Denervation‐induced muscle atrophy progresses during the interval between nerve injury and reinnervation, and depletion of muscle satellite cells (MuSCs) contributes to impaired functional recovery. Although mitochondrial dysfunction and impaired quality control are implicated in muscle wasting, whether excessive mitochondrial ...

ABSTRACT Background In patients with neuroblastoma (NB), skeletal muscle atrophy is a key factor linked to poor survival and decreased long‐term quality of life. Nevertheless, there are still insufficient therapeutic methods that work, and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

The Enteric Nervous System: An Integrative Hub From Development to Systemic Physiology
Unlike a static hardwired circuit, the ENS continuously remodels its transcriptional programs and synaptic connectivity in response to three ecological forces: microbial metabolites, immune cell signals and enteroendocrine cues. ABSTRACT The enteric nervous system (ENS) constitutes the largest and most functionally autonomous subdivision of the ...

Chronic Scrotal Content Pain: A Practical Guide to Diagnosis and Management
ABSTRACT Chronic scrotal content pain (CSCP) is a common but often poorly understood condition that presents a significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. The broad differential diagnosis and frequent absence of an identifiable cause can lead to repeated investigations, delayed treatment and unnecessary surgery.

Summary Introduction The incidence of hip fractures is rising with the ageing population. For patients living with severe frailty and limited life expectancy, non‐operative management is increasingly considered after shared decision‐making. Given the limited availability of long‐term analgesic options, alternative techniques are needed.
