Selective inhibition of the p53–MDM2 interaction by nutlin drugs: a new therapeutic perspective for neuroblastoma [PDF]
Neuroblastoma is one of the most common and most deadly childhood tumors. There is an unmet need to develop new therapeutic modalities for this malignancy that preferentially should be guided by our increasing knowledge of the biology of neuroblastoma ...

ABSTRACT Background Brain metastases (BMETS) from prostate cancer are rare. Hence, brain imaging in neurologically asymptomatic patients with advanced prostate cancer (aPC) is not routinely performed. Prostate‐specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT uses a radiotracer that binds to prostate cancer epithelial cells and is FDA‐approved for initial ...

An introspective update on the influence of miRNAs in breast carcinoma and neuroblastoma chemoresistance [PDF]
Chemoresistance to conventional cytotoxic drugsmay occur in any type of cancer and this can either be inherent or develop through time. Studies have linked this acquired resistance to the abnormal expression of microRNAs (miRNAs) that normally silence ...

Amplification of seismic ground motion in the Tunis basin: Numerical BEM simulations vs experimental evidences [PDF]
This paper aims at the analysis of seismic wave amplification in a deep alluvial basin in the city of Tunis in Tunisia. This sedimentary basin is 3000m wide and 350m deep. Since the seismic hazard is significant in this area, the depth of the basin and the strong impedance ratio raise the need for an accurate estimation of seismic motion amplification.

Interventional oncology in children: Where are we now?
Abstract Paediatric Interventional Oncology (IO) lags behind adult IO due to a scarcity of specific outcome data. The suboptimal way to evolve this field is relying heavily on adult experiences. The distinct tumour types prevalent in children, such as extracranial germ cell tumours, sarcomas, and neuroblastoma, differ strongly from those found in ...

Lapatinib potentiates cytotoxicity of YM155 in neuroblastoma via inhibition of the ABCB1 efflux transporter [PDF]
Adverse side effects of cancer agents are of great concern in the context of childhood tumors where they can reduce the quality of life in young patients and cause life-long adverse effects.

Dynamics and Control of DNA Sequence Amplification [PDF]
DNA amplification is the process of replication of a specified DNA sequence \emph{in vitro} through time-dependent manipulation of its external environment. A theoretical framework for determination of the optimal dynamic operating conditions of DNA amplification reactions, for any specified amplification objective, is presented based on first ...

Notes on Pseudo Entropy Amplification [PDF]
We study pseudo entropy for a particular linear combination of entangled states in qubit systems, two-dimensional free conformal field theories (CFT), and two-dimensional holographic CFT. We observe phenomena that the pseudo entropy can be parametrically large compared with the logarithm of the dimension of Hilbert space. We call these phenomena pseudo

MYCN Drives a Tumor Immunosuppressive Environment Which Impacts Survival in Neuroblastoma
A wide range of malignancies presents MYCN amplification (MNA) or dysregulation. MYCN is associated with poor prognosis and its over-expression leads to several dysregulations including metabolic reprogramming, mitochondria alteration, and cancer stem ...
