An efficient route to optically active inositol derivatives via the resolution of myo-inositol 1,3,5-orthoformate: a short synthesis of d-myo-inositol-4-phosphate

open access: yes, 2004
An efficient method for the resolution of myo-inositol 1,3,5-orthoformate has been developed. The triol, 1 was converted to diastereomers via reaction with (S)-O-acetylmandeloyl chloride. Conditions were optimized for a diastereomeric ratio of 7:3.

Physiology and Transcriptomics Reveal Divergent Strategies of Mycorrhiza‐Mediated Drought Adaptation in Poplar

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mycorrhizal symbiosis shapes plant growth and stress resilience. Here, we compared physiological and molecular responses of poplars (P. x canescens) colonised by Paxillus involutus (Pi) or Cenococcum geophilum (Cg) under control conditions, drought stress and recovery.

Enantiodivergence in Small-Molecule Catalysis of Asymmetric Phosphorylation:  Concise Total Syntheses of the Enantiomeric d-myo-Inositol-1-phosphate and d-myo-Inositol-3-phosphate

open access: yes, 2016
Peptide-based catalysts have been found that catalyze the enantiodivergent phosphorylation of a meso myo-inositol-derived triol (1). The sequential screening of random peptide libraries, followed by the evaluation of a focused library, led to the ...

Pinus‐derived membrane vesicles disrupt pathogenic metabolism in fungi

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Needle‐derived vesicles from pine trees impair fungal metabolism and growth, offering a sustainable strategy to control pine pitch canker disease. Abstract Much of what we know about the biological impacts of vesicles (MVs) is derived from Arabidopsis thaliana.

Effect of Water Suppression and Metabolite Cycling on Quantification of 1H MRS Spectra in the Human Brain at 3 Tesla

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 542-547, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose This study investigates the effect of VAPOR water suppression and metabolite cycling on metabolite quantification and macromolecules in proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Methods Single‐voxel semi‐LASER spectra (TR/TE = 3000/28 ms) and metabolite‐nulled spectra (macromolecules) were acquired in five healthy subjects in the ...

Preclinical 1H MRS Study of a Porcine Model Shows Evidence and Mechanisms for Acute Neuronal Injury in Neonatal Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB) Surgery

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 557-567, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Congenital heart disease affects 1% of US births, with some infants requiring cardiothoracic surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB). Optimal surgical parameters to minimize neuronal injury are unknown. We used serial 1H MRS in a neonatal CPB porcine model to assess acute neuronal damage and associated injury mechanisms.

Myo-inositol affects the health, metabolome, and lactation performance of peripartum dairy cows

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
IntroductionYeast culture (YC) has become a crucial microecological preparation for regulating the ruminal environment and improving ruminant health. Myo-inositol is an effective substance in YC, our study aimed to investigate whether myo-inositol can ...

The Impact and Reliability of Tissue Segmentation on In Vivo Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Metabolite Quantification

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 516-529, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Quantification of metabolite concentrations using MRS requires tissue‐dependent signal corrections. Accurate estimation of voxel tissue composition is therefore essential. Commonly used brain tissue segmentation tools differ in their algorithms and implementation, potentially introducing variability in MRS‐derived concentration ...

Preparation of myo-inositol derivatives

open access: yes, 2022
Phosphoinositides are naturally occurring molecules with vast range of biological activity important for cell life and survival. The exact role and mechanism of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate's actions are not yet elucidated.
