Dehydration‐driven organization of metabolites into NaDES‐like assemblies in orthodox seeds
Summary Desiccation tolerance in plants, especially during orthodox seed dehydration, relies on compatible solute accumulation, complex molecular mechanisms, and intermolecular organizations that remain poorly understood. We combined metabolite profiling, mass spectrometry imaging, and electrospray and cold‐spray ionization mass spectrometry to ...

Sulfonate protecting groups. Regioselective O -sulfonylation of myo -inositol orthoesters
Sulfonylation of myo-inositol 1,3,5-orthoesters with alkyl or aryl sulfonyl chlorides in the presence of sodium hydride gives the corresponding 4,6-di-O-sulfonates in good yields. These sulfonates can be cleaved with magnesium in methanol to generate the

Climate change and crop resilience: harnessing metabolomics for predicting stress tolerance
Summarised methodology for metabolite biomarker discovery and genomic targets selection for those metabolites to predict high‐throughput phenotypic and agronomic traits of interest for direct uptake in breeding programmes. Summary Global warming is driving climate change to levels not experienced since the advent of agriculture, primarily due to ...

1H NMR detection of cerebral myo-inositol
A previously unassigned group of prominent multiplets of the 360 MHz 1H NMR spectrum of acid stable metabolite extracts from rat brain is shown to arise from free myo-inositol.

CNGCs in Marchantia paleacea uncouple arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis and rhizoid development
Rhizoid growth and AM fungal infection are uncoupled. Summary In Marchantia paleacea, MpaDMI1‐dependent nuclear Ca2+ oscillations are essential for arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungal colonisation, indicating that endosymbiosis‐mediated nuclear Ca2+ signalling is a conserved feature of land plant–AM symbiosis.

ABSTRACT Enhancing nutritional quality of oilseed rape requires deeper insight into the genetic control of seed quality traits. This study analysed the effect of varying soil phosphorus (P) levels on seed quality traits in the hybrid cultivar Architect. NIRS and laboratory methods were used to quantify total seed P and phytic acid (IP6) content.

2-O-Benzoyl-myo-inositol-1, 3, 5-orthoformate
Protected myo-inositol derivatives are important precursors in the synthesis of phosphorylated myo-inositol derivatives which play a significant role in the cellular signal transduction.

ABSTRACT Drought limits the productivity of fast‐growing woody crops, although the metabolic adjustments conferring water stress tolerance remain poorly understood. We investigated the responses of Populus nigra seedlings to water stress by integrating daily physiological measurements and NMR metabolomic analyses.
