Regulatory Effects of Myo-Inositol on Carbohydrate Metabolism and Low-Salinity Adaptation in Pacific White Shrimp (Penaeus vannamei)

open access: yesAquaculture Nutrition
This study investigated how dietary myo-inositol affects osmoregulation, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, immunity, and antioxidant properties in Penaeus vannamei under long-term low-salinity conditions.

Plasma myo-inositol elevation in heart failure: clinical implications and prognostic significance. Results from the BElgian and CAnadian MEtabolomics in HFpEF (BECAME-HF) research projectResearch in context

open access: yesEBioMedicine
Summary: Background: The metabolic environment plays a crucial role in the development of heart failure (HF). Our prior research demonstrated that myo-inositol, a metabolite transported by the sodium-myo-inositol co-transporter 1 (SMIT-1), can induce ...

Topological Analysis of Metabolic Networks Integrating Co-Segregating Transcriptomes and Metabolomes in Type 2 Diabetic Rat Congenic Series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background: The genetic regulation of metabolic phenotypes (i.e., metabotypes) in type 2 diabetes mellitus is caused by complex organ-specific cellular mechanisms contributing to impaired insulin secretion and insulin resistance.

A Tac1‐Expressing Brainstem Pathway Underlies the Pathogenesis of Trigeminal Neuralgia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A critical TG‐Sp5CTac1‐PBNTac1 pathway drives trigeminal neuropathic pain (TNP). Tac1‐expressing parabrachial nucleus (PBNTac1) neurons exhibit heightened responses to innocuous stimuli in TNP, and chemogenetic inhibition of these neurons effectively prevents TNP development.

Combined Application of Myo-Inositol and Corn Steep Liquor from Agricultural Waste Alleviate Salt Stress in Brassica rapa

open access: yesPlants, 2023
Salinity poses a significant threat to plant growth through induction of osmotic and ionic stress and disruption of nutrient absorption. Biostimulants derived from agricultural waste offer a sustainable solution to alleviate salt-induced damage to plants

NIR‐II Imaging‐Guided Photothermal Activation of a TRPV4‐Targeted Nanoplatform Delivering Cycloastragenol to Promote Microglia Reprogramming and α‐Synuclein Clearance in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Current therapies for Parkinson's disease (PD) fail to concurrently address α‐synuclein (α‐syn) aggregation and microglia‐mediated neuroinflammation. Herein, we engineer a near‐infrared‐II (NIR‐II) phototheranostic nanoplatform, CAG/FD1080@MM‐aTRPV4, for synergistic regulation of microglial function and real‐time monitoring of PD pathology. We

Metabolic engineering of micronutrients in crop plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Micronutrient deficiency is a widespread phenomenon, most prevalent in developing countries. Being causally linked to the occurrence of a range of diseases, it affects billions of people worldwide. Enhancing the content of micronutrients in crop products

Affinity‐Based Interactome Mapping of Inositol Pyrophosphates Reveals 4/6‐PP‐InsP5‐Binding Proteins in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Inositol pyrophosphates (PP‐InsPs) are central regulators of eukaryotic signaling events. While certain PP‐InsP isomers have been conclusively linked to the regulation of phosphate homeostasis through interaction with SPX domain‐containing proteins in plants, the functions of the recently discovered isomer 4/6‐PP‐InsP5 remain largely unknown ...
