A new class of biohybrid spheroids is engineered through the self‐assembly of adherent cells and extracellular matrix‐mimetic hydrogel microparticles (microgels). By mimicking a snowballing effect, this approach enables scalable formation of porous, millimeter‐scale spheroids with enhanced cell viability and molecular diffusion.

Akirin1 promotes myoblast differentiation by modulating multiple myoblast differentiation factors
Abstract Akirin1 is found to be involved in myoblast differentiation. However, the mechanism by which the Akirin1 gene regulates myoblast differentiation still remains unclear. In the present study, we found that ectopic expression of Akirin1 promoted myoblast differentiation by increasing the expression of myogenic regulatory factor ...

Sestrins are evolutionarily conserved mediators of exercise benefits. [PDF]
Exercise is among the most effective interventions for age-associated mobility decline and metabolic dysregulation. Although long-term endurance exercise promotes insulin sensitivity and expands respiratory capacity, genetic components and pathways ...

An incubatable direct current stimulation system for in vitro studies of Mammalian cells. [PDF]
The purpose of this study was to provide a simplified alternative technology and format for direct current stimulation of mammalian cells. An incubatable reusable stimulator was developed that effectively delivers a regulated current and does not require

It has been demonstrated that, in the bone extracellular matrix (ECM), integrins and growth factor receptors (GFRs) engage in synergistic signaling to guide bone healing and regeneration. This review provides a comprehensive overview of current strategies using ECM‐derived peptides to recreate the cellular microenvironment and harness synergistic ...

Prostaglandin binding activity and myoblast fusion in aggregates of avian myoblasts
Myoblast aggregates provide a system for studying cell interactions which have several advantages over standard, stationary cultures. In gyrotory rotation, aggregate size can be controlled and is independent of cell migration. In muscle aggregates, fibroblasts are excluded, yet myoblast differentiation and fusion occur in a highly synchronous fashion ...

Skeletal muscle as an experimental model of choice to study tissue aging and rejuvenation. [PDF]
Skeletal muscle is among the most age-sensitive tissues in mammal organisms. Significant changes in its resident stem cells (i.e., satellite cells, SCs), differentiated cells (i.e., myofibers), and extracellular matrix cause a decline in tissue ...
