The Omics‐Driven Machine Learning Path to Cost‐Effective Precision Medicine in Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chronic kidney disease (CKD) poses a significant and growing global health challenge, making early detection and slowing disease progression essential for improving patient outcomes. Traditional diagnostic methods such as glomerular filtration rate and proteinuria are insufficient to capture the complexity of CKD.

Key Regulators of Parasite Biology Viewed Through a Post‐Translational Modification Repertoire

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Parasites are the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in both humans and animals, imposing substantial socioeconomic burdens worldwide. Controlling parasitic diseases has become one of the key issues in achieving “One Health”. Most parasites have sophisticated life cycles exhibiting progressive developmental stages, morphologies, and ...

Comparative Proteomics of Salinity Stress Responses in Fish and Aquatic Invertebrates

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Fluctuating salinity is symptomatic of climate change challenging aquatic species. The melting of polar ice, rising sea levels, coastal surface and groundwater salinization, and increased evaporation in arid habitats alter salinity worldwide. Moreover, the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events such as rainstorms and floods increase,

Modular Living Muscle‐Based Biomimetic Actuators for Biosyncretic Robots

open access: yesSmartBot, EarlyView.
Inspired by human fusiform muscles, a modular double‐striped skeletal muscle tissue was designed, which has a maximum contractile force of 2.92 ± 0.07 mN, a maximum contractile strain of 28% and good electrical stimulation response characteristics (up to 10 Hz).
