Characterisation of immunosuppression in rabbits after infection with myxoma virus
Myxoma virus (MXV) causes the systemic disease myxomatosis in the European rabbit. Despite many in vitro studies on the function of MXV immunomodulatory proteins and detailed molecular knowledge of virus, little is known about the dynamics of interaction of the virus with the integrated host-immune system during infection.

Myxoma Virus M083 Is a Virulence Factor Which Mediates Systemic Dissemination
Poxviruses are large, DNA viruses whose protein capsid is surrounded by one or more lipid envelopes. Embedded into these lipid envelopes are three conserved viral proteins which are thought to mediate binding of virions to target cells.

Myxoma virus in rabbits : interaction with the immune system [PDF]

Virulence evolution of a salmonid virus following a host jump.
Emergent viral diseases remain a critical obstacle to welfare across landscapes and species, encompassing humans, wildlife, and agriculture. Following a jump to a novel host, the severity of disease resulting from infection is a critical determinant of ...
