Crystal structure of 1-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)urea

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2015
In the title urea derivative, C9H12N2O, the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the mean plane of the urea group, N—C(=O)—N, is 86.6 (1)°. In the crystal, the urea O atom is involved in three N—H...O hydrogen bonds. Molecules are linked via pairs

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

N-Cyclohexyl-3,4,5-trimethoxybenzamide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The 3,5-methoxy groups in the title compound, C16H23NO4, are almost coplanar with the aromatic ring, whereas the 4-methoxy group is bent out of this plane. The three CH3—O—C—C torsion angles are -1.51 (18), 0.73 (19) and 75.33 (15)°.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

2-Amino-5-chloropyridinium hydrogen succinate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2010
In the title salt, C5H6ClN2+·C4H5O4−, the pyridine N atom is protonated. The pyridinium and amino groups associate via a pair of N—H...O hydrogen bonds to the carboxylate O atoms of the singly deprotonated succinate anion ...

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...
