Sex differences in the effects of N‐ethylpentylone in young CD1 mice: Insights on behaviour, thermoregulation and early gene expression

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 181, Issue 22, Page 4491-4513, November 2024.
Abstract Background and Purpose New psychoactive substances such as N‐ethylpentylone (NEP) are continuously emerging in the illicit drug market, and knowledge of their effects and risks, which may vary between sexes, is scarce. Our present study compares some key effects of NEP in male and female mice.

Quantitative analysis of tetrahydrocannabinol isomers and other toxicologically relevant drugs in blood

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 16, Issue 10, Page 1102-1112, October 2024.
Isomers of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) may complicate valid and defensible confirmatory analysis in forensic toxicology. Bioisosteric analogs of MDMA: Improving the pharmacological profile?

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 168, Issue 9, Page 2022-2042, September 2024.
This study explores three new bioisosteric replacements of the methylenedioxy group of MDMA, resulting in ODMA, TDMA, and SeDMA. Compared to MDMA, these bioisosteres have shown an alternative hepatic metabolism, with different resulting metabolites and an improved metabolic stability for TDMA.
