THREE RICE NAC TRANSCRIPTION FACTORS HETEROMERIZE AND ARE ASSOCIATED WITH SEED SIZE

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
NACs are plant-specific transcription factors (TFs) involved in multiple aspects of development and stress. In rice, three NAC TF encoding genes, namely ONAC020, ONAC026 and ONAC023 express specifically during seed development, at extremely high levels ...

MIRTFnet: analysis of miRNA regulated transcription factors. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Several expression datasets of miRNA transfection experiments are available to analyze the regulatory mechanisms downstream of miRNA effects. The miRNA induced regulatory effects can be propagated via transcription factors (TFs).

Blue Light Receptor PHR2‐Mediated Spectrum Antiviral Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Blue light suppresses RBSDV through the blue‐light receptor ZmPHR2, which interacts with ZmISP in chloroplasts to trigger ROS burst and antiviral defense. The viral effector P6 enhances ZmPHR2–ZmISP interaction, alters their distribution, and suppresses ROS.

The brain-specific Neural Zinc Finger transcription factor 2b (NZF-2b/7ZFMyt1) causes suppression of cocaine-induced locomotor activity

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease, 2010
Chronic cocaine induces high expression of the brain-specific Neural-Zinc-Finger transcription factor-2b (NZF-2b/7ZFMyt1), particularly in the mesolimbic dopaminergic pathway, resulting in a 11-fold increase in NZF-2b/7ZFMyt1 expression in the Nucleus ...

NCOA4 Accelerates Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Formation by Regulating Macrophage Activation and Ferroptosis via STAT1–CH25H Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under pathological stimulation, NCOA4 in macrophages interacts with STAT1 to promote CH25H transcription. The subsequent increase in 25‐HC production activates macrophages, triggers inflammatory responses and ferroptosis, and accelerates the progression of AAA.

Digoxin Alleviates Osteoarthritis by Inhibiting Macrophage Extracellular Trap Formation via Disruption of the LSP1‐SOD1 Interaction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Synovial macrophages in osteoarthritis upregulate LSP1, which directly binds and inhibits SOD1, triggering a redox imbalance that activates both NOX and mitochondrial ROS pathways. This cascade drives the release of macrophage extracellular traps (METs), causing chondrocyte damage and disease progression.

Identification of the role of Arabidopsis ATAF-type NAC transcription factors in plant stress and development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In higher plants, xenobiotic chemicals induce transcriptional activation of genes involved in their detoxification. A generally accepted concept explaining gene regulatory networks is that, activation of pre-existing primary transcription factors ...

Mitochondrial Localization of Cx26 Promotes Colorectal Cancer Malignancy and Exposes a Fatal Vulnerability to Drug Targeting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial localization of Cx26 emerges as a double‐edged sword in colorectal cancer. PIMT‐mediated methylation of Cx26 promotes its mitochondrial localization and stability. Mitochondrial Cx26 then facilitates ER‐mitochondria communication and Ca2+ signaling, thereby promoting metastatic progression. Bortezomib exploits this malignant adaptation by

Genomic analysis of NAC transcription factors in banana (Musa acuminata) and definition of NAC orthologous groups for monocots and dicots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Identifying the molecular mechanisms underlying tolerance to abiotic stresses is important in crop breeding. A comprehensive understanding of the gene families associated with drought tolerance is therefore highly relevant. NAC transcription factors form

Age‐Related Lamin B1 Deficiency Activates SLC7A11‐Dependent Disulfidptosis to Impair Osteogenesis via Intercepting Mitochondrial Fission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that age‐related LMNB1 deficiency in mesenchymal stem cells epigenetically upregulates SLC7A11, triggering actin disulfidptosis and mitochondrial dysfunction. This cascade impairs bone formation in senile osteoporosis. Furthermore, researchers identified the FDA‐approved drug naldemedine as a targeted SLC7A11 inhibitor to reverse ...
