Reactivation of NAD(H) biosynthetic pathway by exogenous NAD+ in nil cells severely depleted of NAD(H)

Journal of Cellular Physiology, 1983
AbstractThe culture of Nil hamster fibroblasts in MEM lacking nicotinamide (NAm− MEM) leads to: (1) the rapid loss of intracellular total nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD(H)) content in these cells from a level of 150–200 pmoles/105 cells to less than 20 pmoles/105 cells; (2) the cessation of cell division and inhibition of DNA synthesis; and (3)

NAD(P)+-NAD(P)H model. 41. Reduction of sulfonate by a model of NAD(P)H

Tetrahedron Letters, 1983
Abstract Carbon-oxygen bonds in sulfonate esters are reduced to the corresponding carbon-hydrogen bonds by an NAD(P)H model compound under irradiation with visible light. Tracer experiments with deuterium have revealed that this reduction proceeds through radical intermediates (1).

Extraction and Measurement of NAD(P)+ and NAD(P)H

2014
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotides are critical redox-active substrates for countless catabolic and anabolic reactions. Ratios of NAD(+) to NADH and NADP(+) to NADPH are therefore considered key indicators of the overall intracellular redox potential and metabolic state.
