Protein modification and maintenance systems as biomarkers of ageing [PDF]
Changes in the abundance and post-translational modification of proteins and accumulation of some covalently modified proteins have been proposed to represent hallmarks of biological ageing.

We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Photochemical afterglow of single organic molecules with wide‐range tunable lifetime
“All‐in‐one” strategy was used to achieve photochemical afterglow in single organic molecule, with second‐to‐hour range tunable lifetime by tailoring the electron‐withdrawing ability of substituents. Abstract Background Photochemical afterglow that relies on slow release of photons from the chemical energy stored by light pre‐irradiation has emerged as

Ultrasmall Platinum Nanoparticles for Radiation‐Enhanced Cancer Therapy
This work proposes a nanomedicine‐based strategy to enhance X‐ray radiotherapy for cancer treatment. Ultrasmall Pt‐NPs exhibit catalase‐like activity that may contribute to modulation of the tumor microenvironment and amplify interactions between radiation and biological matter, leading to increased DNA damage.

Tactile sensing in the naked mole rat
Tactile sensing in the naked mole rat refers to the ability of this naturally blind species to respond to, and localize, stimuli that deflect facial vibrissae, but also an array of somatic vibrissae.

Oxidative stress and life histories: unresolved issues and current needs [PDF]
Life-history theory concerns the trade-offs that mold the patterns of investment by animals between reproduction, growth, and survival. It is widely recognized that physiology plays a role in the mediation of life-history trade-offs, but the details ...

Model‐Driven Optimization of Subcutaneous Polymer Prodrugs Achieves Cancer Remission in Mice
A pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) model was developed to evaluate multiple dosing regimens for subcutaneously administered water‐soluble polymer prodrug for cancer therapy. The model enabled prediction of in vivo performance and contributed to the optimization of anticancer efficacy.
