Overexpression of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) V protein enhances NDV production kinetics in chicken embryo fibroblasts

Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2009
Newcastle disease virus (NDV) is not only one of the most economically important pathogen of poultry but also has a potential as anticancer virotherapy. The role of NDV V protein in virus-production kinetics was investigated using DF-1 cell-based production system.

Antibody detection-based differential ELISA for NDV-infected or vaccinated chickens versus NDV HN-subunit vaccinated chickens

Veterinary Microbiology, 1999
With the advent of subunit vaccines for microbial diseases it is becoming increasingly important to be able to differentiate naturally infected animals from those vaccinated with the corresponding subunit vaccine. For avian viruses such as Newcastle disease virus (NDV), a whole virus-based ELISA cannot make such a differential diagnosis since in both ...

NDV related exosomes enhance NDV replication through exporting NLRX1 mRNA

Veterinary Microbiology, 2021
Virulent Newcastle disease virus (NDV) is a violent infection in avian species. The understanding of its pathogenic mechanism is consistently evolving along with the development of molecular biological advancement. Exosomes derived from NDV infected cells (NDV Ex) were reported to promote virus replication through transportation of viral proteins and ...

Host-controlled variation in NDV

Virology, 1962
Abstract Newcastle disease virus grown in embryonic chicken fibroblasts (Fb-V) differed significantly from chorioallantoic membrane-grown virus (CAM-V) in its sensitivity to inactivation by heat, acid, and ultraviolet irradiation. Alteration of CAM-V to Fb-V, and reversion of Fb-V to CAM-V, occurred under conditions of normal yield in a single growth

Antibody Response to Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) of Recombinant Fowlpox Virus (FPV) Expressing a Hemagglutinin-Neuraminidase of NDV into Chickens in the Presence of Antibody to NDV or FPV

Avian Diseases, 1991
Antibody response of recombinant fowlpox virus (FPV) was studied in chickens inoculated with the virus in the presence or absence of antibodies against Newcastle disease virus (NDV) or FPV. In the case of NDV, high hemagglutination-inhibition titers to NDV were obtained when the antibody was present.

Expression of the Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) Fusion Glycoprotein and Vaccination against NDV Challenge with a Recombinant Baculovirus

Avian Diseases, 1994
The hybrid baculovirus constructed from Autographa california nuclear polyhedrosis virus (NPV) and Bombyx mori (silkworm) NPV was used for expression of fusion glycoprotein (F) of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) strain D26. The gene encoding F protein was introduced into the improved baculovirus expression vector derived from the host-range-expanded ...

Recombinant Newcastle disease virus (NDV) La Sota expressing the haemagglutinin–neuraminidase protein of genotype VII NDV shows improved protection efficacy against NDV challenge

Avian Pathology, 2018
Intensive vaccination strategies against Newcastle disease (ND) have been implemented in many countries for a long time, but ND outbreaks still occur frequently, with most isolates belonging to genotype VII of Newcastle disease virus (NDV). Many researchers have revealed that vaccines closely matched to epidemic viruses provide better protection ...

Characterization of reference strains of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) and NDV-like isolates by monoclonal antibodies to HN subunits

Archives of Virology, 1985
The hemagglutinin-neuraminidase (HN) subunits of NDV and NDV-like isolates were analyzed antigenically by monoclonal antibodies to the HN of Miyadera and Taka viruses. In immuno-double-diffusion (IDD) tests, all NDVs examined gave clear lines of precipitation with some of the potent monoclonal antibodies, but it was difficult to determine with ...

Biological and Molecular Characterization of Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) Field Isolates with Comparisons to Reference NDV Strains

Avian Diseases, 1998
Fifty-seven Newcastle disease virus (NDV) isolates from chickens, turkeys, a rhea, a parrot, and an anhinga were pathotyped and characterized by monoclonal antibody (mAb) inhibition profile, elution rate, and hemagglutinin thermostability. Nucleotide sequence analysis of portions of the fusion protein and matrix protein genes of the parrot isolate was ...

Toxicity of NDV for Mouse Lungs

The Journal of Immunology, 1952
Summary The toxicity of NDV, as measured in mouse lungs, has been described. It has been shown that pulmonary consolidation and death follow the intranasal instillation of large doses of virus and that these effects are caused by the virus, rather than by nonviral components of the inoculum.
