Quantum scattering of neon from a nanotextured surface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Phonon exchange is the usual cause of decoherence in atom–surface scattering. By including quantum effects in the treatment of Debye–Waller scattering, we show that phonon exchange becomes ineffective when the relevant phonon frequencies are high.

study of the effect of laser (helium - neon) on the properties and performance of solar cell [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة التربية والعلم, 2010
The present study tackles the effect of He – Ne laser light on the electric characteristics and the performance of Si - solar cell. A He – Ne laser light of (λ = 632.8 nm) wavelength and (1mW) power has been used to irradiate the solar cells in two modes:

Blog post. Charting the digital lifespan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
During NEoN 13 Dr.Wendy Moncur FRSA gave us an interesting insight into our digital lifespan and questioned what happened to it when we die. As a reader in Socio-Digital Interaction at the University of Dundee, Dr Moncur’s research explores the bequest ...

Isotopic effects in the neon fixed point: uncertainty of the calibration data correction

open access: yes, 2015
The neon triple point is one of the defining fixed points of the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90). Although recognizing that natural neon is a mixture of isotopes, the ITS-90 definition only states that the neon should be of ‘natural ...

Simultaneous ELM suppression and divertor detachment via synergistic boron powder and neon injection in EAST

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
A novel approach for simultaneous power exhaust and edge-localized mode (ELM) control is presented in the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak discharges, which utilize an ITER-like tungsten divertor.
