The effect of neon seeding on plasma edge transport in EAST

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Impurity seeding is crucial for power exhaust in future power plants. In the presented analysis, neon seeding for the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST) tokamak is studied.

Neon Lights Up a Controversy: the Solar Ne/O Abundance

open access: yes, 2005
The standard solar model was so reliable that it could predict the existence of the massive neutrino. Helioseismology measurements were so precise that they could determine the depth of the convection zone.

Pulsations of massive ZZ Ceti stars with carbon/oxygen and oxygen/neon cores [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We explore the adiabatic pulsational properties of massive white dwarf stars with hydrogen-rich envelopes and oxygen/neon and carbon/oxygen cores. To this end, we compute the cooling of massive white dwarf models for both core compositions taking into ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

study of the effect of laser (helium - neon) on the properties and performance of solar cell [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة التربية والعلم, 2010
The present study tackles the effect of He – Ne laser light on the electric characteristics and the performance of Si - solar cell. A He – Ne laser light of (λ = 632.8 nm) wavelength and (1mW) power has been used to irradiate the solar cells in two modes:

BMI‐1 modulation and trafficking during M phase in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The schematic illustrates BMI‐1 phosphorylation during M phase, which triggers its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In cycling cells, BMI‐1 functions within the PRC1 complex to mediate H2A K119 monoubiquitination. Following PTC596‐induced M phase arrest, phosphorylated BMI‐1 dissociates from PRC1 and is exported to the cytoplasm via its

EMC3-EIRENE modelling of the toroidally asymmetric heat flux distribution with neon impurity injection on EAST

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2021
The heat flux deposition on the divertor targets with neon impurity injection has been investigated for EAST tokamak with the help of three-dimensional (3D) edge transport code EMC3-EIRENE.

Soft X-ray lasers using distributed-feedback reflection: A concept [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Proposed arrangement consists of large evacuated chamber containing smaller Dewar chamber into which liquid neon is introduced. Zeolite crystal is mounted in wall of chamber, with one side in contact with neon and other exposed to evacuated chamber ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
