Diabetes Advances Cardiomyocyte Senescence Through Interfering Rnd3 Expression and Function

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Diabetes‐induced upregulation of miR‐103a‐3p suppresses Rnd3 expression in cardiomyocytes, thereby promoting the senescence‐associated secretory phenotype (SASP) through activation of the STAT3 signaling pathway, mediated by UPS‐induced degradation of p‐STAT3.

The use of financial incentives for smoking cessation in pregnant women: A parallel‐group randomised controlled trial protocol

open access: yesAddiction, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and aims Smoking cessation during pregnancy results in short‐ and long‐term health benefits for the mother and infant. Despite public health policies and initiatives to reduce smoking, smoking in pregnancy remains unacceptably high in Australia, particularly among populations of high disadvantage.

Accelerated, Robust Lower-Field Neonatal MRI with Generative Models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Neonatal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) enables non-invasive assessment of potential brain abnormalities during the critical phase of early life development. Recently, interest has developed in lower field (i.e., below 1.5 Tesla) MRI systems that trade-off magnetic field strength for portability and access in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU ...

In Suspected Fetal Growth Restriction, sFlt‐1/PlGF and PlGF May Have Value in Risk Stratification for Preterm Birth and Birthweight < 3rd Centile: A Blinded Cohort Study

open access: yesAustralian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigated the value of measuring sFlt‐1/PlGF in people with suspected fetal growth restriction (sFGR) without signs of preeclampsia at recruitment. Angiogenic biomarkers were considered positive when sFlt‐1/PlGF > 38 or PlGF < 100 pg/mL. Clinicians were blinded to the sFlt‐1/PlGF results.

Dual Inhibition of Mast Cells and Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin Using a Novel Bispecific Antibody, CDX‐622

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
SCF and TSLP expression are known to drive unique immune responses leading to the onset of allergic and inflammatory diseases. Here, we describe the characterization of a novel bsAb, CDX‐622, that targets SCF and TSLP. CDX‐622 inhibits MC functions through SCF starvation and Type 2 inflammatory responses via TSLP inhibition.

Vaginal breech delivery in all‐fours position—Hands off instead of intervention: A prospective observational study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Vaginal breech delivery in all‐fours is safe for the newborn and in more than 50% possible without obstetric intervention. The results suggest that all‐fours has the potential as an emergency management maneuver for unplanned breech deliveries for unplanned births.
