A Modified Seroflocculation Reaction in Relationship to Invasive Neoplasms.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1957
SummaryA method is described for an improved laboratory aid in mass screening for invasive neoplasms. The modification of the described seroflocculation test consisted essentially in heating sera at 64°C for 30 minutes.

Day/night variations of myeloid and lymphoid cell subsets in the murine inguinal lymph node

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The circadian system is involved in the temporal regulation of the immune system. Our study reveals that two innate immune populations, NKT cells and neutrophils, predominate at the beginning of the day in healthy mice, highlighting how the time of day influences immune responses.

Cytosolic HMGB1 Expression in Human Renal Clear Cell Cancer Indicates Higher Pathological T Classifications and Tumor Grades

open access: yesUrology Journal, 2013
Purpose: High mobility group box (HMGB) proteins are nuclear nonhistone chromosomalproteins that bend DNA, bind preferentially to distorted DNA structures, and promote the assemblyof site-specific DNA binding proteins.

Diabetes‐induced vascular calcification is associated with low pyrophosphate and its oral supplementation prevents calcification in diabetic mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Induction of diabetes in three different mouse strains uniformly resulted in an increase in TNAP activity and a reduction in pyrophosphate (PPi) in the circulation. Inhibition of TNAP restored plasma PPi. Diabetes‐induced calcification in the media layer of the aorta was detected only in the Abcc6−/− strain, which is predisposed to ectopic ...

Establishment of a coculture system for Porphyromonas gingivalis and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma using spheroid culture and LATS inhibition

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We established a spheroid coculture system enabling viable Porphyromonas gingivalis–HNSCC interactions under normoxic conditions. Inhibition of LATS1/2 maintains tumor cells in an undifferentiated state, which may promote spheroid growth and create a more permissive environment for bacterial persistence.
