Pleiotropic Role of HSF1 in Neoplastic Transformation [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Cancer Drug Targets, 2014
HSF1 (Heat Shock transcription Factor 1) is the main transcription factor activated in response to proteotoxic stress. Once activated, it induces an expression of heat shock proteins (HSPs) which enables cells to survive in suboptimal conditions. HSF1 could be also activated by altered kinase signaling characteristic for cancer cells, which is a ...

ATF2 promotes urothelial cancer outgrowth via cooperation with androgen receptor signaling

open access: yesEndocrine Connections, 2018
We investigated the functional role of ATF2, a transcription factor normally activated via its phosphorylation in response to phospho-ERK/MAPK signals, in the outgrowth of urothelial cancer.

Adenovirus E1A requires c-Ras for full neoplastic transformation or suppression of differentiation of murine preadipocytes

open access: yes, 2007
We recently demonstrated that the Adenovirus-5 E1A gene products (E1A), known E2F activators, can block the differentiation of murine preadipocytes and that differentiation suppression occurs at lower levels than required for full neoplastic ...

Mechanisms of radiation-induced neoplastic cell transformation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Studies with cultured mammalian cells demonstrated clearly that radiation can transform cells directly and can enhance the cell transformation by oncogenic DNA viruses.

Suppression of Neoplastic Transformation by Low Doses of Low Let Radiation

open access: yesDose-Response, 2006
A major concern of exposure to low doses of radiation is the risk of cancer induction. Epidemiologic data are rarely powerful enough to accurately discriminate this risk at doses

Neoplastic potential of odontogenic cysts

open access: yesContemporary Clinical Dentistry, 2011
Odontogenic cysts and tumors are distinct entities and quite a common occurrence in the jaw bones. The lining of odontogenic cysts shows a potential for neoplastic transformation to non odontogenic malignancies like squamous cell carcinoma and ...

The Clinicopathological Features of Gastric Hyperplastic Polyps with Neoplastic Transformations: A Suggestion of Indication for Endoscopic Polypectomy

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2009
Background/AimsAlthough gastric hyperplastic polyps are usually considered as benign lesions, a low risk of carcinomatous conversion is currently recognized.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
