Influenza Antiviral Prescriptions in the US Inpatient and Outpatient Settings During the 2015–2022 Influenza Seasons

open access: yesInfluenza and Other Respiratory Viruses, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Backgrounds The antiviral drug prescription landscape has changed as new antivirals for influenza treatment have been approved. Understanding this landscape is important to assess potential under‐ and mis‐utilization and to address gaps in care.

Neuraminidase inhibitors for preventing and treating influenza in healthy adults and children

open access: yesSao Paulo medical journal = Revista paulista de medicina, 2014
BACKGROUND: Neuraminidase inhibitors (NIs) are stockpiled and recommended by public health agencies for treating and preventing seasonal and pandemic influenza. They are used clinically worldwide.

A Sequence‐Based Update on Amino Acid Substitutions in Influenza Polymerase Acidic Protein in Europe That Alter Baloxavir Susceptibility From 2009 to 2025

open access: yesInfluenza and Other Respiratory Viruses, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Influenza causes 650,000 deaths, 3–5 million hospitalizations, and 1 billion cases worldwide each year. There is a limited repertoire of antivirals available to tackle this burden, highlighting the risk of developing resistance to current drugs.

Complete analysis of the H5 hemagglutinin and N8 neuraminidase phylogenetic trees reveals that the H5N8 subtype has been produced by multiple reassortment events [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The analysis of the complete H5 hemagglutinin and H8 neuraminidase phylogenetic trees presented in this paper shows that the H5N8 avian influenza has been generated by multiple reassortment events.

Single-domain antibodies directed against hemagglutinin and neuraminidase protect against influenza B viruses

open access: yesNature Communications
Influenza B viruses are antigenically diverse and contribute significantly to the annual influenza burden. Here we report influenza B virus neutralizing single-domain antibodies that target highly conserved regions of the hemagglutinin and neuraminidase.

Simple detection of mumps virus neuraminidase and anti-neuraminidase with the lectin neuraminidase test.

open access: yesActa virologica, 1983
The lectin neuraminidase (LN) test is based on specific interaction between Arachis lectin and the glycoprotein receptors treated with the neuraminidase (NA) of myxoviruses. The test is suitable for detection of mumps virus NA and of corresponding antibodies and is more sensitive than the conventional neuraminidase inhibition test.
