This study investigated how thickened fluids impact pathological swallowing. Hydrocolloid solutions with divergent rheological profiles were evaluated using Pharyngeal HRM‐Impedance. The study revealed that the swallow response was linked to the shear viscosity and not the thickness level assessed by an empirical flow test.

The Leuven Consensus provides a classification scheme for the diagnosis of pharyngeal and upper esophageal sphincter (UES) motor disorders using metrics derived from pharyngeal high‐resolution manometry‐impedance (P‐HRM‐I). These recommendations complement routine instrumental investigations and provide a standardized process, criteria, and ...

Hiatus hernia alters esophageal anatomy, generating mechanical resistance in the mid‐distal esophagus that impairs bolus transport to the stomach. These findings are also observed in patients with reflux and are associated with dysphagia symptoms. ABSTRACT Background Dysphagia and reflux are frequently experienced by individuals with hiatus hernia (HH),

Alternative Splicing Regulation in Metabolic Disorders
ABSTRACT Alternative splicing (AS) is a fundamental mechanism for enhancing transcriptome diversity and regulating gene expression, crucial for various cellular processes and the development of complex traits. This review examines the role of AS in metabolic disorders, including obesity, weight loss, dyslipidemias, and metabolic syndrome.
