ABSTRACT Regeneration after peripheral nerve injury is often insufficient for functional recovery. Postoperative electrical stimulation (PES) following injury and repair significantly improves clinical outcomes; recently, conditioning electrical stimulation (CES), delivered before nerve injury, has been introduced as a candidate for clinical ...

Exploring of Antidepressant Components and Mechanisms of Zhizichi Decoction: Integration of Serum Pharmacochemistry, Network Pharmacology and Anti‐inflammatory Analysis Verification [PDF]
ABSTRACT Using LC–MS to screen and analyse the characteristics of components and biological systems is a new approach to study the pharmacological substance basis of traditional Chinese medicine, which has strong novelty in analytical science. This study analyses the antidepressant material basis of Zhizichi decoction through the integration strategy ...

Cardiovascular Actions of Neurotrophins [PDF]
Neurotrophins were christened in consideration of their actions on the nervous system and, for a long time, they were the exclusive interest of neuroscientists. However, more recently, this family of proteins has been shown to possess essential cardiovascular functions.

Targeting gut microbiota as a therapeutic approach for neurodegenerative diseases
The abstract depicts the gut‐brain axis, illustrating the bidirectional communication between the gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system. Probiotics can induce the production of neurotrophins, neurotransmitters, SCFAs, and contribute to increased antioxidant levels, which can benefit brain health. In contrast, antibiotics can disrupt the

Recent studies have indicated that exogenously administered neurotrophins produce antidepressant-like behavioral effects. We have here investigated the role of endogenous brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its receptor trkB in the mechanism of ...

Anemia and retinopathy of prematurity: A narrative review
Anemia in infants who are at greatest risk of developing severe retinopathy of prematurity is almost universal. There is plausible evidence in the literature correlating anemia with severe ROP. However, the relationship is complex, and further study is needed to better understand the potential molecular mechanisms for anemia‐associated ROP.

Protein Synthesis and Neurotrophin-Dependent Structural Plasticity of Single Dendritic Spines
Long-term potentiation (LTP) at glutamatergic synapses is considered to underlie learning and memory and is associated with the enlargement of dendritic spines.

Inner Ear Immunity and Audio‐Vestibular Dysfunction
Diagram of the immune response of the inner ear and associated damage. ABSTRACT The inner ear is a critical sensory organ regulated by the immune system to maintain balance and respond to external stimuli. Immune cells like macrophages, lymphocytes, neutrophils, and natural killer cells play important roles in inner ear immunity. Inflammatory mediators,
