Intelligent Manufacturing for Osteoarthritis Organoids

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Overall schematic of intelligent manufacturing in osteoarthritis organoids. Broad overview of the article's structure, outlining the progression from fundamental joint anatomy and OA pathogenesis to organoid construction and, ultimately, to intelligent manufacturing and future prospects.

Aetiopathogenesis of infantile epileptic spasms syndrome and mechanisms of action of adrenocorticotrophin hormone/corticosteroids in children: A scoping review

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, EarlyView.
Why does infantile epileptic spasms syndrome (IESS) occur with a variety of underlying conditions and why does it respond to adrenocorticotrophin hormone (ACTH)/corticosteroids? Our scoping review summarizes five hypotheses from the literature: gene/epigenetic regulation, stress/HPA axis activation, neuroinflammation/immune function, altered neuronal ...

Interactions of a neuronal cell line (PC12) with laminin, collagen IV, and fibronectin: identification of integrin-related glycoproteins involved in attachment and process outgrowth. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Neuronal responses to extracellular matrix (ECM) constituents are likely to play an important role in nervous system development and regeneration. We have studied the interactions of a neuron-like rat pheochromocytoma cell line, PC12, with ECM protein ...

An adamantane‐based ligand as a novel chemical tool for thermosensory TRPM8 channel therapeutic modulation

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 8 (TRPM8) is a cationic thermosensory channel crucial for cold sensation and menthol response. TRPM8 dysfunction leads to sensory symptoms such as cold allodynia. Targeting TRPM8 is important for treating diseases like peripheral neuropathies and cancer.

Natural aminosterols inhibit NMDA receptors with low nanomolar potency

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Misfunction of N‐methyl‐D‐aspartate (NMDA) receptors is associated with many brain disorders, making them primary targets for drug discovery. Trodusquemine and other natural aminosterols inhibit NMDA receptors with low nanomolar potency through binding to the cell membranes followed by interaction with the channels.

Biodiversity finance: Sovereign biodiversity loss drivers and financial stability

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study analyzed the impact of sovereign biodiversity risk drivers on financial stability. Using a global dataset covering 2004–2021, I found empirical evidence that the biodiversity risks land use, drought, and freshwater stocks significantly affect the systemic risk measures SRISK and systemic expected shortfall (SES).
