An Escherichia coli strain was constructed for the efficient import of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) analogues into cells by limiting extracellular degradation while expressing an efficient NAD importer. In vivo functions of three NAD analogues

Mitochondria‐Targeting Moieties Based on N‐Tethered Pyridinium Cations
Pyridinium cations were benchmarked as mitochondria‐targeting moieties in a panel of N‐tethered fluorescent‐, bioactive‐, and inert‐cargo conjugates. 3,5‐Diphenylpyridinium (DPPy+) is a competent triphenylphosphonium (TPP+) surrogate, combining high mitochondria‐targeting efficiency with lower intrinsic effects on mitochondrial function.

Summary: Nucleoside-containing metabolites such as the oxidized and reduced forms of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+ and NADH), 3′-desphospho-coenzyme A (dpCoA), and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) can be incorporated as RNA 5′ end caps by ...

An electrochemical platform based on differential pulse amperometry enables real‐time, selective tracking of safinamide pharmacokinetics in the living brain with high spatiotemporal resolution. When integrated with electrophysiology, this approach reveals that drug‐induced suppression of vision‐related neuronal activity provides mechanistic insight ...

Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells evade natural killer (NK) cell immunity by secreting IL8 and CXCL1. These chemokines suppress NK cells’ function via CXCR1/2 and enhance cancer cells’ survival through PD‐L1 upregulation and BCL‐2 anti‐apoptotic signaling.

Creation of Bioorthogonal Redox Systems Depending on Nicotinamide Flucytosine Dinucleotide
Creation of Bioorthogonal Redox Systems Depending on Nicotinamide Flucytosine DinucleotideMany enzymes catalyzing biological redox chemistry depend on the omnipresent cofactor, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD).

The senotherapeutic nicotinamide riboside raises platelet nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide levels but cannot prevent storage lesion [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Supplementation of the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) precursor nicotinamide riboside (NR) has recently been shown to increase life-span of cells, tissues, and entire organisms.

ABSTRACT Doxorubicin‐induced cardiomyopathy (DIC) remains a dose‐limiting clinical challenge. This study reveals that cardiac vascular endothelial cells (CVECs) act as initial sensors of doxorubicin cardiotoxicity: circulating doxorubicin activates the cGAS‑STING pathway in CVECs, triggering NLRP3 inflammasome‑mediated pyroptosis and release of ...

NAD+ Repletion Rescues Female Fertility during Reproductive Aging
Summary: Reproductive aging in female mammals is an irreversible process associated with declining oocyte quality, which is the rate-limiting factor to fertility. Here, we show that this loss of oocyte quality with age accompanies declining levels of the
