Protective Effect of Phytic Acid in Cardiovascular Diseases: A Systematic Review

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a cluster of ailments that impact the heart and blood vessels and are a primary public health problem of mortality on a global scale. Phytic acid, a dietary constituent frequently present in foods like seeds, has been linked to many pharmacological attributes, including anti‐cancer, antioxidant, anti ...

EFFECT OF NICOTINIC ACID ON PLASMA AND BODY PROTEINS AND LIPIDS IN BROILERS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, 2002
Numerous attempts were made to reduce carcass fat in broilers by genetic, nutritional and pharmacological manipulation in the past years, so as to reduce the incidence of coronary heart disease in consumers of broiler meat. In this study an attempt was

Trigonelline (-methylnicotinic acid) Biosynthesis and its Biological Role in Plants

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2008
Trigonelline is synthesized from nicotinic acid in many plant species. This compound accumulates in seeds of leguminous plants and Coffea sp. The present article reviews the distribution of nicotinic acid conjugates and biosynthetic pathways of ...

Comprehensive Peptide Profiling Reveals the Influence of Streptococcus Thermophilus, Lactobacillus Delbrueckii Subsp. bulgaricus, and Endogenous Milk Proteases on the Hydrolysis of Milk Proteins During Early‐Stage Lactic Acid Fermentation

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
Untargeted peptide profiling investigates how S. thermophilus, Lb. bulgaricus, and endogenous milk enzymes impact proteolysis during early‐stage milk fermentation. ≥ 3000 identified peptides show the strongest influence of LB on the peptide profile and number of bioactive peptides. Shorter peptides are mostly formed by LB and hydrolyzed by ST.

Inclusion Complexations of Levamisole and Cocaine With Molecular Baskets. Fluorescence Displacement Assay for Detection of Cocaine and Its Adulterant Levamisole in Aqueous Media

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Levamisole is a common adulterant found in street‐distributed cocaine. Molecular baskets have been shown to form stable inclusion complexes with both substances. While levamisole inserts its benzene into the basket's cavity, cocaine utilizes its bicyclic ring for encapsulation.

Nicotinic acid and DP1 blockade: studies in mouse models of atherosclerosis[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2013
The use of nicotinic acid to treat dyslipidemia is limited by induction of a “flushing” response, mediated in part by the interaction of prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) with its G-protein coupled receptor, DP1 (Ptgdr).

A Unified Approach for the Synthesis of Conformationally Locked and sp2‐sp3 Fused Hybrids

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This study presents a systematic platform to build rigid sp2–sp3 hybrids via benzyne cycloadditions. Arene‑fused bicyclic oxa‐, aza‐, and carbocycles are converted into medicinally relevant amino acids and applied to Enalapril analogues synthesis. The hybrids combine aromatic interactions with 3D rigidity, tuning lipophilicity, pKa, and solubility ...
