Modulation of a sustained calcium current by intracellular pH in horizontal cells of fish retina. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A sustained high voltage-activated (HVA), nifedipine- and cadmium-sensitive calcium current and a sustained calcium action potential (AP) were recorded from horizontal cells isolated from catfish retina.

Fetoscopic Laser Ablation of Type II Vasa Previa—Case Report and Systematic Review

open access: yesPrenatal Diagnosis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Vasa previa is a rare but potentially fatal obstetric condition in which fetal vessels traverse the internal cervical os without the protection of placental tissue or Wharton's jelly, making them highly vulnerable to rupture during labor or spontaneous membrane rupture. This can result in rapid fetal exsanguination and death.

Protein binding of nifedipine

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1986
Abstract The protein binding of nifedipine in concentrations up to 1200 ng ml−1 has been measured in serum, pure human albumin solution and pure human α1-acid glycoprotein (AAG) solutions by ultrafiltration. The drug was extensively bound in serum from four healthy volunteers with a mean (±s.d.) fraction bound of 0.992 ± 0.008.

Rhabdomyolysis Induced by Irbesartan-Hydrochlorothiazide in an Elderly Patient. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT A 90‐year‐old male with hypertension and diabetes presented with acute limb weakness and dizziness. Laboratory tests revealed severe hyponatremia (Na+ 111.6 mmol/L) and rhabdomyolysis (CK 1771 U/L), which occurred after the recent initiation of irbesartan‐hydrochlorothiazide for edema.
