Laser‐Induced Plasma Effects on Bond Breaking in High‐Density Polyethylene Pyrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel application of Laser‐Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) for bond breaking in high‐density polyethylene (HDPE), an area previously unexplored in laser‐plastic interactions. For the first time, a numerical model has been developed to differentiate between photon‐induced and laser field‐induced plasma, demonstrating the ...

Double‐Sided Control of Product Type Preference in the Visible‐Light Initiated Reaction of 1,3‐Dicarbonyl Compounds with Alkenes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Abstract The demonstrated light‐initiated addition of radicals formed on an active methylene group to styrene derivatives exhibits a product selectivity influenced by the presence of a protic solvent. Under protic conditions, the predominant products are branched compounds with the alkene moiety attached to the methylene group.

Isoxazole derivatives as new nitric oxide elicitors in plants

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
Several 3,5-disubstituted isoxazoles were obtained in good yields by regiospecific 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions between aromatic nitrile oxides, generated in situ from the corresponding hydroxyimidoyl chlorides, with non-symmetrical activated ...

Functionalisation of Artemisinin and Its Ring-contracted Derivatives

open access: yesMolecules, 2007
Isoxazoline analogues of artemisinin were obtained in low yield and low diastereoselectivity from the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of nitrile oxides. Alternatively, starting from the aldehyde 7, a number of transformations - Wittig reaction and reduction ...

Illuminating the Path of Rearrangement: Visible Light‐Driven Pd‐Catalyzed Substituted Olefins Synthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Abstract Pd‐catalyzed reactions are among the most straightforward and efficient methods to proficiently build Csp2‐Csp2 bonds. Nevertheless, thermal activation remains mandatory in most cases, which may decrease the compatibility with sensitive functional groups.

Solid phase strain promoted "click" modification of DNA via [3+2]-nitrile oxide-cyclooctyne cycloadditions.

open access: yesChemical Communications, 2011
Rapid, catalyst free, solid phase modification of DNA by strain promoted cyclooctyne-nitrile oxide click chemistry is reported; the reaction is characterised by mild conditions, occurring in an aqueous environment under atmospheric conditions at room ...
