Unveiling the Electrolyte and Solid Electrolyte Interphase in Sodium Ion Batteries: Mechanisms, Progress, and Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the recent advances in sodium‐ion battery electrolytes (including organic, aqueous, gel, ionic liquid, and solid‐state types) and their influence on the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI). It discusses SEI formation, aging, and optimization, as well as cases where no SEI forms, providing insights into the critical relationship ...

Lanthanum‐Induced Gradient Fields in Asymmetric Heterointerface Catalysts for Enhanced Oxygen Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Uncontrolled atomic migration during the pyrolysis of metal‐N‐C catalysts often leads to disordered coordination environments, active site loss, and poor oxygen electrocatalytic activities. Herein, a La‐mediated atomic migration strategy enables the fabrication of a well‐defined asymmetric heterostructure (LaN/LaFe‐NC) featuring a built‐in electric ...

Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Polyoxometalate Aerogels Formed by Organofunctionalized Anderson Polyoxometalates as Low Molecular Weight Gelators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Catalytically active aerogels based on metal‐linkage of organofunctionalized Anderson polyoxometalates are designed. The Aerogel showed promising reactivity as heterogeneous catalysts for selective alcohol oxidation. Abstract Polyoxometalate‐based aerogels, built through supramolecular interactions and metal coordination, have the potential to expand ...
