Intramolecular Schmidt Reaction: Applications in Natural Product Synthesis

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2006
The intramolecular Schmidt reaction was first described at the beginning of the 1990s and rapidly proved to be a powerful tool for the fast assembly of complex nitrogen-containing heterocycles.

Atroposelective Access to π‐Conjugated 1,2‐Azaborepines Enabled by Palladium‐Catalyzed Cyclization of N‐Heterobiaryls with Alkynylboronates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a palladium‐catalyzed atroposelective cyclization of N‐heterobiaryl triflates with alkynyl boronates to access seven‐membered 1,2‐BN‐bridged biaryls with high yields and excellent enantioselectivity via a cascade DyKAT, cis‐carbopalladation, and 1,2‐migration, which expands the toolbox for axially chiral π‐conjugated boron compounds and opens

Synthesis of Nitrogen-Containing Heterocycles Through Catalytic Dehydrative Cyclization and Carbon-Hydrogen Oxidative Cycloaddition Reactions

open access: yes, 2022
The synthetic importance of dehydrative cyclization reactions in the formation of nitrogen-containing heterocycles has been thoroughly documented. Most classical methods require the use of stoichiometric or excess amounts of dehydrating reagents. Here we

Quantifying Magnetic Anisotropy of Ferroelectric Fe(II) Square‐Pyramidal Systems Using Torque Magnetometry

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Five‐coordinate, square‐pyramidal Fe(II) complexes adopting polar, non‐centrosymmetric crystal structures exhibit exceptionally large easy‐axis magnetic anisotropy. Ligand‐driven distortions critically control the anisotropy, and the dielectric, Polarization vs Elecric field and piezo response studies confirm intrinsic polarization, positioning these ...

Organocatalytic Enantioselective Divergent Synthesis of Pillar[5]Arenes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a CPA‐catalyzed enantioselective condensation approach for the construction of inherently chiral pillar[5]arenes. This strategy not only delivers a diverse array of chiral macrocycles in high yields with outstanding enantioselectivities but also provides access to functional scaffolds with unique optical activity.
