A novel styrenic monomer bearing gem‐bisphosphonate groups is synthesized in a single step. The nitroxide‐mediated (co)polymerization of this monomer proceeds in a well‐controlled manner, yielding bisphosphonate‐functionalized (co)polymers with low dispersity.

Self‐nanostructuring of redox‐active organic small molecules through in situ electrochemical postcrosslinking enabled an aqueous‐processed, stable, fast‐rechargeable organic electrode even with a high active content ratio and mass loading. ABSTRACT Redox‐active organic materials (ROMs) for batteries are emerging as sustainable alternatives to inorganic

Dynamic Nitroxide Functional Materials
AbstractA substrate‐independent and versatile coating platform for (spatially resolved) surface functionalization, based on nitroxide radical coupling (NRC) reactions and the formation of thermo‐labile alkoxyamine functional groups, was introduced.

Abstract Renal arterial infusion of tempol (RAT) at the onset of Gram‐negative sepsis can prevent sepsis‐induced medullary tissue hypoxia and acute kidney injury (AKI). However, it is not known whether treatment with tempol at a clinically relevant time point of sepsis is similarly effective. Thus, we examined whether tempol can reverse renal medullary

Editorial overview: Folding and binding: In silico, in vitro and in cellula [PDF]
The essence of any biological processes relies on the conformational states of macromolecules and their interactions. It comes therefore with no surprises that the study of folding and binding has been centre stage since the birth of structural biology ...

Oxidative stress (OS) and nitrative stress (NS) accompany many diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Parkinson’s disease (PD). Antioxidants have been proposed to counteract OS/NS in these diseases. Nevertheless, the effects of antioxidants are

Synthesis and utilization of nitroxide free radicals and their precursors as sensors and possibly biologically active molecules [PDF]
Nitroxide stable free radicals have found broad app lication as spin labels, low molecular weight antioxidants, MRI contrast agents, co-oxidants, red ox- and pH-sensitive probes and mediators of polymerization.
