Effects of tempol on renal medullary tissue hypoxia in an ovine model of Gram‐negative septic acute kidney injury

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Renal arterial infusion of tempol (RAT) at the onset of Gram‐negative sepsis can prevent sepsis‐induced medullary tissue hypoxia and acute kidney injury (AKI). However, it is not known whether treatment with tempol at a clinically relevant time point of sepsis is similarly effective. Thus, we examined whether tempol can reverse renal medullary

A Modified Balanced Steady State Free Precession Sequence for Overhauser Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 4, Page 1655-1665, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Low‐ and ultralow‐field magnetic resonance imaging (ULF MRI) have inherently low signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) by design. Overhauser dynamic nuclear polarization (ODNP) stands out as an effective solution for continuous signal enhancement.

Enabling Quantitative Benchtop 13C NMR Spectroscopy in Fast Continuous Flow

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Chemistry, Volume 64, Issue 9, Page 758-767, September 2026.
Paramagnetic relaxation enhancement (PRE) accelerates polarization buildup in continuous‐flow benchtop 13C NMR spectroscopy by the use of an immobilized PRE agent. By combining PRE with PENDANT polarization transfer, weak 13C signals are enhanced even at high flow rates, enabling robust quantitative analysis of solvent mixtures under process‐relevant ...

Mito‐TEMPO Improves Post‐Thaw Quality and Fertilizing Capacity of Rooster Semen Cryopreserved in Beltsville Extender

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
This study reported the effect of Mito‐TEMPO on rooster semen quality cryopreserved in Beltsville extender. Semen diluted in extenders containing 10 or 100 µM of Mito‐TEMPO presented higher motility, average path velocity as well as membrane/acrosome integrity, mitochondrial activity, and fertility rate; and lower lipid peroxidation, apoptosis rate ...

Biocompatible Sulfobetaine Polymer‐Artemisinin Conjugates Inducing Ferroptosis in Cancer Cells: Synthesis by Mechanochemical Solid‐State Polymerization and Characterization

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 47, Issue 15, 4 August 2026.
The amphiphilic copolymer incorporating a hydrophobic chain conjugated with artesunate into a biocompatible sulfobetaine polymer is synthesized by solid‐state copolymerization of sulfobetaine methacrylate and methacrylamide derivative conjugating artesunate.

Nitroxide malonate methanofullerene as biomimetic model of interaction of nitroxide species with antioxidants

open access: yesColloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2015
Bis-nitroxide malonate methanofullerene (NO)2-MF was studied as a biomimetic model of reduction-oxidation activity with natural compounds-cytochrome c (cyt c), dihydroquercetin (DHQ), ascorbic acid (AA) and synthetic drug-1-(β-oxyethyl)-4,6-dimethyl-1,2-dihydro-2-oxopyrimidine (xymedon(®)).

A profluorescent azaphenalene nitroxide for nitroxide-mediated polymerization

open access: yes, 2011
A novel nitroxide-mediated polymerization (NMP) control agent; 1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-2,3-dihydro-2-azaphenalen-2-yloxyl (TMAO), was used in the free-radical polymerization of styrene. The conversion of styrene during NMP was studied using FT-Raman spectroscopy and the effectiveness of TMAO as a NMP control agent was assessed by GPC analysis.
