Multifunctional Role of Mitochondrial Fatty Acid Oxidation in Cancer Immunotherapy and Aging
Recent studies have highlighted the complex interplay between tumor immunity, aging, and inflammation. Mitochondrial FAO is a major hub of this physiological interplay. ABSTRACT Recent studies have demonstrated the intricate relationship between tumor immunity, aging, and inflammation.

Importance of OsRac1 in Signalling of Pigm-1 Mediated Resistance to Rice Blast Disease
In rice, leucine-rich repeat nucleotide-binding site (NLR) proteins are pivotal immune receptors in combating Magnaporthe oryzae-triggered rice blast.

Lactate Accelerates Early Angiogenesis and Bone Regeneration Through Macrophage M1 Polarisation
During the early stage of bone defect healing, lactate accumulates and contributes to increasing NOD1 expression by stabilising HIF1α that in turn triggers a calcium influx, which ultimately polarises macrophages towards the M1 phenotype and accelerates vascularisation of endothelial cells.

ABSTRACT Aims To explore sex‐specific heterogeneity in the prognostic discrimination of inflammatory markers for mortality across different glycaemic states. Methods This prospective cohort study included 450 438 participants from the UK Biobank (median follow‐up: 15.3 years), stratified by sex and glycaemic status.

Small leucine‐rich proteoglycans (SLRPs) are key modulators of extracellular matrix structure and signaling. Their proteolytic processing by MMPs (Matrix Metalloproteinases), ADAMTS (disintegrin and metalloprotease with thrombospondin motifs), and serine proteases generates bioactive fragments that regulate collagen remodeling, inflammation, and ...

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common type of liver cancer. Recently, combination therapy with atezolizumab plus bevacizumab has become a standard systemic treatment for patients with unresectable HCC. Some HCCs show high signal intensity on the hepatobiliary phase of Gd‐EOB‐DTPA–enhanced MRI.

A viral effector blocks the turnover of a plant NLR receptor to trigger a robust immune response
Plant intracellular nucleotide-binding and leucine-rich repeat immune receptors (NLRs) play a key role in activating a strong pathogen defense response. Plant NLR proteins are tightly regulated and accumulate at very low levels in the absence of pathogen

ABSTRACT Aim The dental pulp is an immunologically active tissue that responds dynamically to cariogenic challenge. Peripheral pulp cells adjacent to dentine encounter bacterial stimuli earlier than cells located in the central pulp. To investigate signalling and immune interactions, this study profiled the transcriptomes of dentine‐adherent cells ...

Characterization of the human NLR protein NLRC5
Nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich repeat (NLR)-containing proteins play important roles in the innate immune system as intracellular pattern recognition receptors. The most prominent members, NOD1, NOD2 and NLRP3 have been extensively shown to trigger NF-kB activation or IL-1b/IL-18 processing upon pathogen infection, respectively.

Background Attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a chronic neurodevelopmental disorder marked by persistent patterns of inattention, disorganization, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Increasing evidence implicates immune‐inflammatory processes in its etiology, with observed associations between ADHD and infectious diseases, allergic ...
