Adjunctive Methylprednisolone After Thrombectomy: A Secondary Analysis Stratified by Admission White Blood Cell Count

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
Admission WBC identified who benefited from adjunctive methylprednisolone after thrombectomy. Improved 90‐day function and lower mortality/pneumonia occurred only with WBC ≥ 10 × 109/L, supporting WBC‐guided corticosteroid targeting. ABSTRACT Background Leukocyte‐driven inflammation may contribute to reperfusion–outcome mismatch after thrombectomy.
