Acetylation of NDPK-D Regulates Its Subcellular Localization and Cell Survival. [PDF]
Nucleoside diphosphate kinases (NDPK) are ubiquitous enzymes that catalyze the reversible phosphotransfer of γ-phosphates between di- and triphosphonucleosides.

Nucleoside diphosphate kinase/Nm23 and Epstein–Barr virus [PDF]
Nm23-H1 was discovered as the first metastasis suppressor gene about 20 years ago. Since then, extensive work has contributed to understanding its role in various cellular signaling pathways. Its association with a range of human cancers as well as its ability to regulate cell cycle and suppress metastasis has been explored. We have determined that the

Inhibition of nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDPK/nm23) by cAMP analogues [PDF]
Nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDPK/nm23) ATP/GDP phosphotransferase activity and serine autophosphorylation is inhibited by N 6‐mbcAMP, 8‐ClcAMP and 8‐BrcAMP. Inhibition of the enzymatic activity largely depends on the concentration of ATP and becomes significant at ATP concentrations up to 0.5 mM and at effector concentrations measured in C6 cells ...

Decrease in Nucleoside Diphosphate Kinase (NDPK/nm23) Expression during Hematopoietic Maturation [PDF]
The nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDPK/nm23) isoforms H1 and H2 were localized in hematopoietic tissues. Flow cytometric analysis and enzymatic assays were used to quantify the intracellular and extracellular concentrations of NDPK. Bone marrow CD34(+) progenitors contained the highest intracellular levels of both nm23-H1 and nm23-H2.

Proliferation-related expression of p19/nm23 nucleoside diphosphate kinase. [PDF]
High level expression of the nm23-H1 gene, which encodes for a nucleoside diphosphate kinase, has been found to correlate with diminished metastasis in some tumors but not in others. We have previously identified the protein product of the nm23-H1 gene in two-dimensional electrophoretic gels and have designated it p19/nm23.

Nucleoside Diphosphate Kinase (nm23 Protein) Expression in Retinoblastoma
Forty-two enucleated eyes of 42 patients with unilateral retinoblastoma were studied histologically, including histochemically examiantion with anti-nm23 polyclonal antibody which does not recognise cDNA but its product. Primary tumours of >15 mm diameter with less evidence of apoptosis and with the most pleomorphic and anaplastic nuclei were ...

Phosphorylation of Geranyl and Farnesyl Pyrophosphates by Nm23 Proteins/Nucleoside Diphosphate Kinases [PDF]
The biochemical mechanism(s) by which Nm23 proteins/nucleoside diphosphate kinases suppress tumor metastasis, inhibit cell motility, and affect cellular differentiation are not known. Here we report that Nm23 proteins can phosphorylate geranyl and farnesyl pyrophosphates to give triphosphates.

The Human nm23-H4 Gene Product Is a Mitochondrial Nucleoside Diphosphate Kinase [PDF]
We demonstrate here the catalytic activity and subcellular localization of the Nm23-H4 protein, product of nm23-H4, a new member of the human nm23/nucleoside diphosphate (NDP) kinase gene family (Milon, L., Rousseau-Merck, M., Munier, A., Erent, M., Lascu, I., Capeau, J., and Lacombe, M. L. (1997) Hum. Genet. 99, 550-557).

Nucleoside diphosphate kinase Nm23-H1 regulates chromosomal stability by activating the GTPase dynamin during cytokinesis [PDF]
Chromosomal instability and the subsequent genetic mutations are considered to be critical factors in the development of the majority of solid tumors. Here, we describe how the nucleoside diphosphate kinase Nm23-H1, a protein with a known link to cancer progression, regulates a critical step during cytokinesis. Nm23-H1 acts to provide a local source of
