Ferric Citrate Attenuates Cardiac Hypertrophy and Fibrosis in a Rat Model of Chronic Kidney Disease. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
IntroductionChronic kidney disease (CKD) promotes hypertrophy and fibrosis in heart, and increases the risk of cardiovascular mortality. Ferric citrate is a dietary phosphate binder used to control hyperphosphatemia in CKD patients.

Nobiletin acts as a potential anticancer agent against osteosarcoma by regulating ERK and AKT signaling pathways

open access: yesBangladesh Journal of Pharmacology, 2014
The current study was aimed to evaluate the anti-proliferative activity of nobiletin, a flavonoid, on osteosarcoma cell line, SaOS-2. Furthermore, we attempted to investigate the signaling pathways involved in the cell growth inhibition mechanism.

Nobiletin Increased Cytotoxic Activity Of Doxorubicin On Mcf-7 Cells But Not On T47d Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Nobiletin, a citrus flavonoid, shows strong cytotoxic effect in several cancer cell lines. The aim of this research was to investigate cytotoxic activities of nobiletin alone and in combination with doxorubicin.

Nobiletin and 3′-Demethyl Nobiletin Activate Brown Adipocytes upon β-Adrenergic Stimulation

open access: yesNobiletin and 3′-Demethyl Nobiletin Activate Brown Adipocytes upon β-Adrenergic Stimulation
Brown adipose tissue (BAT) specifically regulates energy expenditure via heat production. Nobiletin (NOB), a natural polymethoxylated flavone present in citrus fruits, can activate thermogenesis in the BAT of high-fat diet-induced obese mice. The activity of BAT is directly regulated by β-adrenergic stimulation.

Citrus flavonoids for overcoming breast cancer resistance to methotrexate: identification of potential targets of nobiletin and sinensetin

open access: yesDiscover Oncology
Breast cancer is a potentially fatal illness that affects millions of women worldwide. Methotrexate (MTX) may be beneficial for treating breast cancer; however, high doses and prolonged use can cause drug resistance.
