Nobiletin alleviates methotrexate-induced hepatorenal toxicity in rats

open access: yesBiotechnic & Histochemistry
We investigated the possible ameliorative effects of nobiletin (NBL) against methotrexate (MTX)-induced hepatorenal toxicity in rats. Twenty-eight Wistar albino rats were randomly divided into four groups, namely: Control; MTX (administered 20 mg/kg MTX); MTX+NBL (administered 20 mg/kg MTX and 10 mg/kg NBL per day); and NBL (administered 10 mg/kg/day ...

Extraction of Nobiletin and Tangeretin From Peels of Shekwasha and Ponkan Using [Cmim][(MeO)(H)PO] and Centrifugation

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2019
The polymethoxyflavonoids nobiletin and tangeretin are isolated from peels of shekwasha ( Citrus depressa Hayata) and ponkan ( Citrus reticulata Blanco).

Nobiletin restores HFD-induced enteric nerve injury by regulating enteric glial activation and the GDNF/AKT/FOXO3a/P21 pathway

open access: yesMolecular Medicine
Background To explore whether nobiletin has a protective effect on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced enteric nerve injury and its underlying mechanism. Methods An obesity model was induced by a HFD.

Antisolvent precipitation for the synergistic preparation of ultrafine particles of nobiletin under ultrasonication-homogenization and evaluation of the inhibitory effects of α-glucosidase and porcine pancreatic lipase in vitro

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry
To further enhance the application of nobiletin (an important active ingredient in Citrus fruits), we used ultrasonic homogenization-assisted antisolvent precipitation to create ultrafine particles of nobiletin (UPN).

Nobiletin acts as a potential anticancer agent against osteosarcoma by regulating ERK and AKT signaling pathways

open access: yesBangladesh Journal of Pharmacology, 2014
The current study was aimed to evaluate the anti-proliferative activity of nobiletin, a flavonoid, on osteosarcoma cell line, SaOS-2. Furthermore, we attempted to investigate the signaling pathways involved in the cell growth inhibition mechanism.

Nobiletin and 3′-Demethyl Nobiletin Activate Brown Adipocytes upon β-Adrenergic Stimulation

open access: yesNobiletin and 3′-Demethyl Nobiletin Activate Brown Adipocytes upon β-Adrenergic Stimulation
Brown adipose tissue (BAT) specifically regulates energy expenditure via heat production. Nobiletin (NOB), a natural polymethoxylated flavone present in citrus fruits, can activate thermogenesis in the BAT of high-fat diet-induced obese mice. The activity of BAT is directly regulated by β-adrenergic stimulation.

Citrus flavonoids for overcoming breast cancer resistance to methotrexate: identification of potential targets of nobiletin and sinensetin

open access: yesDiscover Oncology
Breast cancer is a potentially fatal illness that affects millions of women worldwide. Methotrexate (MTX) may be beneficial for treating breast cancer; however, high doses and prolonged use can cause drug resistance.
