Nocardia macrotermitis sp. nov. and Nocardia aurantia sp. nov., isolated from the gut of the fungus-growing termite Macrotermes natalensis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The taxonomic positions of two novel aerobic, Gram-stain-positive Actinobacteria, designated RB20$^{T}$ and RB56$^{T}$, were determined using a polyphasic approach. Both were isolated from the fungus-farming termite Macrotermes natalensis. Results of 16S

Drug Susceptibility of Recent Isolates of Nocardia seriolae from Cultured Fish.

open access: yesFish Pathology, 2002

Comparative Proteomic Profiling of a Virulent Wild-Type Nocardia seriolae and Its Attenuated Vaccine Strain

open access: yesFishes
Nocardia seriolae (N. seriolae) is a significant bacterial pathogen in global aquaculture, causing substantial economic losses. Live-attenuated vaccines represent a promising control strategy, but their molecular mechanisms remain poorly understood. This

The mycolic acids of Nocardia seriolae hijack Coronin-1A to inhibit autophagy for macrophage-derived foam cell formation

open access: yesWater Biology and Security
Nocardia seriolae alters macrophages to a “foamy” phenotype characterized by the accumulation of lipid droplets during infection to create a habitat that is ideally suited to its requirements. However, little is known about how exactly it does this.

Nocardia seriolae infection in the three striped tigerfish, Terapon jarbua (Forsskål)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, 2009
AbstractAn epizootic in pond cultured three striped tigerfish, Terapon jarbua, in Taiwan was caused by Nocardia seriolae. Diseased fish first showed clinical signs and mortalities in February and March 2003. The cumulative mortality within 2 months was 2.4% (1200 of 50 000) and affected fish were 7 months old with total lengths from 18 to 25 cm.
