The potential mechanism and clinical application value of remote ischemic conditioning in stroke

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research
Some studies have confirmed the neuroprotective effect of remote ischemic conditioning against stroke. Although numerous animal researches have shown that the neuroprotective effect of remote ischemic conditioning may be related to neuroinflammation ...

Ligand-Independent Activation of Notch1 by Cathepsin L Induces CUX1/p16INK4a-Dependent Endothelial Senescence Associated With Atherosclerosis. [PDF]

open access: yesAging Cell
CTSL activates Notch1/RBPJ in a ligand‐independent fashion, inducing CUX1/p16INK4a‐dependent endothelial senescence associated with atherosclerosis. ABSTRACT Our post‐GWAS functional analysis revealed that cathepsin L (CTSL) is an upstream regulator of CUX1, and it induces p16INK4a‐dependent and atherosclerosis‐associated senescence by indirectly ...

Postnatal Notch1 activation induces T‑cell malignancy in conditional and inducible mouse models

open access: yes, 2014
The Notch1 signaling pathway is essential for hematopoietic development. However, the effects of postnatal activation of Notch1 signaling on hematopoietic system is not yet fully understood. We previously generated ZEG‑IC‑Notch1 transgenic mice that have

Inhibition of Notch1 reverses EMT and chemoresistance to cisplatin via direct downregulation of MCAM in triple‐negative breast cancer cells

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, 2020
Resistance to chemotherapy continues to be a critical issue in the clinical therapy of triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC). Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) is thought to contribute to chemoresistance in several cancer types, including breast ...

NUDT21 Drives T‐Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Through Dual Regulation of Alternative Polyadenylation and Transcriptional Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In summary, our study defines a coordinated oncogenic model in which NUDT21 integrates alternative polyadenylation–dependent UBE2D3 stabilization and transcriptional activation to sustain MYC‐driven T‐ALL cell survival, thereby establishing NUDT21 as a central regulatory node and a promising therapeutic target.

NOTCH1 Is Aberrantly Activated in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Hematopoietic Stem Cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2018
To investigate chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)-initiating cells, we assessed NOTCH1 mutation/expression in hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). In NOTCH1-mutated CLL, we detected subclonal mutations in 57% CD34+/CD38− HSCs.

Preactivation of Notch1 in remote ischemic preconditioning reduces cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury through crosstalk with the NF-κB pathway

open access: yesJournal of Neuroinflammation, 2019
Remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) initiates endogenous protective pathways in the brain from a distance and represents a new, promising paradigm in neuroprotection against cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury. However, the underlying mechanism

The NOTCH1-HEY1 pathway regulates self-renewal and epithelial-mesenchymal transition of salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma cells

open access: yesInternational Journal on Biological Sciences, 2020
Our previous study demonstrated a close relationship between the NOTCH signaling pathway and salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma (SACC). Its receptor gene, NOTCH1, and its downstream gene, HES1, contribute to the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of ...

FGL2‐HDAC11 Drives Immunothrombosis via NETs‐Mediated Endothelial Capillarization in MASLD Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is frequently accompanied by hepatic fibrosis and systemic cardiovascular complications; however, the mechanistic interplay between coagulation abnormalities and disease progression remains poorly defined.

Prognostic implications of NOTCH1 and FBXW7 mutations in adult acute T-lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesHaematologica, 2009
Background NOTCH1 mutations have been associated with a favorable outcome in pediatric acute T-lymphoblastic leukemia. However, the results of studies on the prognostic significance of NOTCH1 mutations in adult T-lymphoblastic leukemia remain ...
