Novel 4,5‐Dihydrothiazole‐Phenylpiperazine Derivatives: Synthesis, Docking Studies and Pharmacological Evaluation as Serotonergic Agents

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 20, Issue 15, August 2, 2025.
The synthesis of a new series of 4,5‐dihydrothiazol‐2‐ylphenylpiperazine derivatives as serotoninergic ligands is described and tested for their affinity toward 5‐HT1A, 5‐HT2A,and 5‐HT2C and selected for further in vivo assays to determine their functional activity. The pharmacological studies highlight that among the developed derivatives, FG‐7 and FG‐

Membran‐Bioreaktor‐Technik kombiniert mit nachgeschalteter Ozonung – Vergleich mit konventionellen Ozonanwendungen Combination of Membrane Bioreactor and Downstream Ozonation – A Comparison to Conventional Ozone Applications

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, Volume 97, Issue 7, Page 677-688, July 2025.

Surveillance for Avibacterium paragallinarum in commercial layer hens and wild waterfowl

open access: yesDiscover Animals
Objectives Testing strategies for infectious coryza (IC) in laying hen flocks have not been developed though there is a standard testing procedure for the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) that we wished to use to collect data on flocks with and ...

Effect of carnosine on nitrosamine formation in gastric‐simulated aqueous and lipid environments

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 104, Issue 15, Page 9349-9355, December 2024.
Abstract Background Nitrite salts are frequently utilized as meat additives to improve the quality and safety of processed meat products. However, these salts are associated with the formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines. Given its potential regulating effect on the formation of intermediate molecules, such as nitric oxide, it is hypothesized that ...

Nuclear patterns of phosphatidylinositol 4,5‐ and 3,4‐bisphosphate revealed by super‐resolution microscopy differ between the consecutive stages of RNA polymerase II transcription

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 291, Issue 19, Page 4240-4264, October 2024.
Phosphatidylinositol phosphates are powerful signaling molecules that orchestrate signaling and direct membrane trafficking in the cytosol. Interestingly, phosphatidylinositol phosphates also localize within the membrane‐less compartments of the cell nucleus, where they participate in the regulation of gene expression.

Structure-Property Relationships for a Series of Ruthenium(II) Polypyridyl Complexes Elucidated through Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, 2018
A series of ruthenium polypyridyl complexes were studied using Raman spectroscopy supported by UV/Vis absorption, luminescence spectroscopy, and luminescence lifetime determination by time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC).

What is the role of current mass spectrometry in pharmaceutical analysis?

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, Volume 43, Issue 3, Page 560-609, May/June 2024.
Abstract The role of mass spectrometry (MS) has become more important in most application domains in recent years. Pharmaceutical analysis is specific due to its stringent regulation procedures, the need for good laboratory/manufacturing practices, and a large number of routine quality control analyses to be carried out.

Simultaneous catheter and multicriteria optimization for HDR cervical cancer brachytherapy with a complex intracavity/interstitial applicator

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 51, Issue 3, Page 2128-2143, March 2024.
Abstract Background Complex intracavity and interstitial (IC/IS) applicators, such as the Venezia applicator, can improve the HR‐CTV coverage while adequately protecting organs at risk in the treatment of cervical cancer with high‐dose‐rate (HDR) brachytherapy.

Simultaneous Determination and Quantification of NineNitrosamine Impurities in Semi-Solid Forms Using a GC–MS/MS Method

open access: yesSeparations
Many studies are being conducted on the detection of nitrosamine impurities in solid formulations. However, research on semi-solid formulations such as gels, ointments and creams is not common. In particular, excipients used to increase viscosity and add
