The (Un)deserving Parent: Exploring Parental Argumentation and Sole‐Custody Decisions in Swedish Courts

open access: yesSocial Policy &Administration, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Across the Western world, joint legal and physical custody is increasingly becoming the default post‐separation arrangement. While family policy and law encourage such arrangements, they may not suit every situation. In child‐custody court disputes, courts must consider whether sole legal custody is the best alternative for the child in each ...

Transcriptome‐Based Classification of Resected Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Enhances Prognostic Modelling Accuracy of Overall Survival Following Adjuvant Treatment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 5, Page 1322-1336, 1 September 2026.
Outcomes after resection of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma remain highly variable, and existing prognostic models lack sufficient accuracy. Here, the authors aimed to improve survival prediction by integrating transcriptome‐based subtyping into a validated clinical model and applying it to a multicenter real‐world cohort of fresh‐frozen resection ...

ClusterMine360: a database of microbial PKS/NRPS biosynthesis

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 2012
ClusterMine360 (http://www.clustermine360.ca/) is a database of microbial polyketide and non-ribosomal peptide gene clusters. It takes advantage of crowd-sourcing by allowing members of the community to make contributions while automation is used to help achieve high data consistency and quality.

3,3′,4,5′‐Tetramethoxy‐trans‐stilbene Alleviates Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
3,3′,4,5′‐Tetramethoxy‐trans‐stilbene alleviates hepatic insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease, through the activation of IRS/PI3K/Akt/GSK3β/GS and Nrf2/HO‐1 pathways, in diet‐induced obese mice. The figure was created with MedPeer (medpeer.cn).

Mutasynthesis and Antibiotic Activity of Mupirocin Analogues

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.
A mutasynthetic strategy was developed to prepare pseudomonic acid analogues, and their antimicrobial activities were evaluated against five bacterial strains. Feeding studies with mutant strains of Pseudomonas fluorescens revealed that C7‐desepoxy‐PA‐B was metabolised to C7‐PA‐C with loss of the 8‐hydroxyl group, but no fatty acid chain extension ...

Reprogramming of the antimycin NRPS-PKS assembly lines inspired by gene evolution

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Modifying the non-ribosomal peptide synthase (NRPS)/polyketide synthase (PKS) pathway to generate novel non-ribosomal peptides often results in a loss of productivity.

Environmental DNA as a Detection and Quantitative Tool for Brown Bullhead Catfish (Ameiurus nebulosus): A Comparison With Conventional Netting

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 8, Issue 4, July‐August 2026.
Multiple environmental DNA (eDNA) methods were compared with each other and with fyke netting for detecting invasive brown bullhead catfish. eDNA sampling combined with catfish‐specific metabarcoding provides sensitive detection and effectively complements traditional netting for biosecurity.

Quorum sensing regulators and non-ribosomal peptide synthetases govern antibacterial secretions in Xenorhabdus szentirmaii

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
The decades-long gap in antibiotic discovery has led to a significant health crisis due to antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The bacterial genus Xenorhabdus, which forms symbiotic relationships with the soil nematode Steinernema, are known to secrete a ...

Priority Actions for the Conservation of Primary and Old‐Growth Forests in Europe

open access: yesConservation Letters, Volume 19, Issue 4, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT Primary and old‐growth forests are important for nature and society. Although global commitments to their conservation are increasing and the EU has aligned itself with these efforts, these forests remain critically threatened. Consequently, to meet its own targets rooted in global commitments, the EU needs a strategy that ensures their ...
