LC3B Mediated SETDB1‐Accounted Alcoholic Steatohepatitis via Lipidation‐Dependent LAP and Lipidation‐Independent Nuclear Stabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SETDB1 is progressively downregulated in ALD, correlating with disease severity. SETDB1 deficiency impairs LAP by disrupting Rubicon membrane localization, leading to defective lipid droplet clearance. Concurrently, loss of SETDB1 reduces nuclear LC3B, causing R‐loop accumulation and cGAS‐STING‐driven inflammation. Lipidated LC3B mediates LAP‐dependent

4-Hydroxy-2-nonenal causes nuclear accumulation of p62 by inhibiting Xpo1 and promoting the proteolytic pathway in the nucleus.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
p62, an adapter protein involved in selective autophagy, is mainly found in the cytoplasm under normal conditions. Because p62 has nuclear localization signal (NLS) and a nuclear export signal, it has been suggested that p62 shuttles between the nucleus ...

Intravital Multimodal Imaging of Human Cortical Organoid Transplantation in a Mouse Model of Chronic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal intravital imaging platform enables longitudinal tracking of human cortical organoids transplanted into chronic stroke lesions. By combining surgical microscopy, MRI, bioluminescence imaging, and two‐photon fluorescence microscopy, the platform captures graft placement, viability dynamics, and cellular‐scale morphology in vivo, offering a ...

The HIV-1 Rev Activation Domain is a nuclear export signal that accesses an export pathway used by specific cellular RNAs [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
HIV-1 Rev protein directs nuclear export of pre-mRNAs and mRNAs containing its binding site, the Rev response element (RRE). To define how Rev acts, we used conjugates between bovine serum albumin (BSA) and peptides comprising the Rev activation domain ...

Cross Kingdom Metabolic Engineering Paradigm Elevating Sustainable Protein Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Confronting the dual crisis of escalating global protein demand and unsustainable agriculture necessitates transformative solutions. Here, we pioneer evolutionary insights from maize nitrogen optimization via asparagine synthetase (ASNS) to rewire metabolism in Pichia pastoris.

Mechanisms of Nuclear Export in Cancer and Resistance to Chemotherapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
YesTumour suppressor proteins, such as p53, BRCA1, and ABC, play key roles in preventing the development of a malignant phenotype, but those that function as transcriptional regulators need to enter the nucleus in order to function.

A 3D Human Bone and Bone Marrow‐on‐a‐Chip Model for In Vitro Bone Remodeling and Immune Cell Maintenance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a human Bone (and Bone Marrow)‐on‐a‐Chip model based on native human bone scaffolds and autologous cells. Dynamic perfusion and sequential cell seeding replicate the physiological bone remodeling process in vitro, enabling the long‐term culture of functional, mature bone marrow immune subpopulations.

VDUP1 mediates nuclear export of HIF1α via CRM1-dependent pathway [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF1α) is a critical transcriptional factor for inducing tumor metastasis, and stabilized under hypoxia but degraded by von Hippel–Lindau protein (pVHL) under normoxia.

p32 is a negative regulator of p53 tetramerization and transactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, 2019
p53 is a sequence‐specific transcription factor, and proper regulation of p53 transcriptional activity is critical for orchestrating different tumor‐suppressive mechanisms.
