Characterization of I kappa B alpha nuclear import pathway
I kappa B alpha controls the transcriptional activity of nuclear factor (NF)-kappa B by retaining it in the cytoplasm; but, when expressed in the nucleus, it can also inhibit the interaction of NF-kappa B with DNA and promote the export of NF-kappa B ...

Myeloid IκBα deficiency promotes atherogenesis by enhancing leukocyte recruitment to the plaques. [PDF]
Activation of the transcription factor NF-κB appears to be involved in different stages of atherogenesis. In this paper we investigate the role of NF-κB inhibitor IκBα in atherosclerosis.

Defect‐Engineered ZnO Nanowire Arrays for Flexible Room‐Temperature Hydrogen Sensors
Fabrication process of patterned ZnO nucleation sites on a flexible polyimide (PI) substrate. Top/tilted‐view SEM images of ordered ZnO nanoflower arrays confined within patterned circular regions. AFM topography map with height data revealing a disk‐array structure, where the patterned regions (marked by a red dot circle) are elevated by ∼2 µm ...

Rel/Nuclear factor-kappa B apoptosis pathways in human cervical cancer cells
Cervical cancer is considered a common yet preventable cause of death in women. It has been estimated that about 420 women out of the 1400 women diagnosed with cervical cancer will die during 5 years from diagnosis. This review addresses the pathogenesis

Targeting Oncogenic Nuclear Factor Kappa B Signaling with Redox-Active Agents for Cancer Treatment
Significance: Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) signaling is essential under physiologically relevant conditions. However, aberrant activation of this pathway plays a pertinent role in tumorigenesis and contributes to resistance.

Low‐Pressure Plasma‐Based Wrinkling of PDMS and Machine Learning‐Driven Property Engineering
Wrinkled surfaces are well‐suited for controlled surface deformations in the µm range. The key challenge is the relation between the resulting wrinkle features and the necessary process conditions. Machine learning techniques have solved the prediction and inverse design problems for various preparation conditions, opening a precisely controlled ...

Nuclear factor kappa B-mediated kainate neurotoxicity in the rat and hamster hippocampus.
Administration of the excitotoxin kainate produces seizure activity and selective neuronal death in various brain areas. We examined the degeneration pattern of hippocampal neurons following systemic injections of kainate in the hamster and the rat.
