Effect of Nuclear Export Inhibitor Leptomycin B on the Intracellular Localization of HBV Core Protein into Hepatocytes Cell Line Huh-7 and HepG2 Cells

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Biotechnology, 2015
Leptomycin B (LMB) was originally discovered as a potent anti-fungal antibiotic from Streptomyces species. The cellular target of LMB has been identified as the nuclear export receptor CRM-1 or exportin-1, which is involved in nuclear trafficking of ...

Nuclear localization of orphan receptor protein kinase (Ror1) is mediated through the juxtamembrane domain

open access: yesBMC Cell Biology, 2010
Background Several receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) such as EGFR, FGFR, TRK, and VEGFR are capable of localizing in the cell nucleus in addition to their usual plasma membrane localization. Recent reports also demonstrate that nuclear-localized RTKs have

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Investigation of latent nuclear localization sequence(NLS) OF STAT3

open access: yesChinese Journal of Cancer Research, 2004
Objective: To investigate the latent nuclear localization sequence (NLS) OF STAT3. Methods: Clustal X (1.81) was used to alignment the DNA binding domain of the STAT family. According to structure characters, corresponding expression plasmids were constructed via oligonucleotides designed with gene tool software.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Nuclear EGFR modulation of DNA repair

open access: yes, 2011
Overexpression of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is associated with resistance to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. EGFR involvement, in repair of radiation-induced DNA damage, is mediated by association with the catalytic subunit of DNA ...
