Inhibition of Surfactin Biosynthesis in Bacillus Subtilis Using Cell‐Permeable Adenylation Domain Inhibitors

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
L‐Leu‐AMS‐based adenylation domain inhibitors with the modification of 2′‐OH in the adenosine skeleton are synthesized. Coupled with affinity‐based protein profiling of nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPSs), their activities toward surfactin‐NRPSs in Bacillus subtilis are evaluated.

NF-KB protein purification from bovine spleen: Nucleotide stimulation and binding site specificity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
The activity of the enhancer for the κ immunoglobulin light chain gene critically depends on the presence in the nucleus of the NF-κB protein. We purified NF-κB over 50,000-fold and identified two protein species, 42 and 44 kDa, that could be eluted and ...

Lumos: A β‐Diketone‐Derived Artificial Nucleobase Forming Inter‐Strand Complexes in DNA that Promote Lanthanoid Ion Luminescence

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
A novel artificial nucleobase, 1‐(3‐(hydroxymethyl)phenyl)‐3‐phenylpropane‐1,3‐dione (HdbmOR), bearing a β‐diketone functionality and designed to form inter‐strand complexes that resemble lanthanoid‐mediated base pairs, was developed. The antenna effect of HdbmOR promoting luminescence of EuIII and SmIII is retained upon incorporation into short ...

A Cytotoxic Indazole‐based Gold(III) Carboxamide Pincer Complex Targeting DNA Through Dual Binding Modes of Groove Binding and Alkylation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Toward new gold(III) anticancer agents. Herein, we report on an indazole‐based gold(III) carboxamide pincer complex exhibiting significant cytotoxicity, likely mediated through dual interactions with DNA. Mechanistic investigations suggest that the complex binds to the DNA and forms specific interactions with nucleotide bases.

1H-1,2,3-triazolyl-1,6-naphthyridin-7(6H)-ones as Potential Fluorescent Nucleoside Analogues: Synthesis and Optical Properties

open access: yesMolecules
In this article, we present the synthesis and the optical properties of three original molecules as potential fluorescent ribonucleoside analogues incorporating a 1,6-naphthyridin-7(6H)-one scaffold as a fluorescent nucleobase and a 1,2,3-triazole as a ...

A Fluorescent Aptasensor for Sensitive and Selective Determination of Epigenetic Cancer Biomarker N1‐Methyladenosine in Urine Samples

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Using N1‐methyladenosine, a cancer biomarker as a target, a highly selective DNA aptamer was obtained with excellent selectivity and affinity, allowing the detection with a limit of detection of 1.9 µm. Abstract N1‐methyladenosine (m1A) level in urine increases in the presence of cancer and is associated with the tumor size and stage.

Water‐Soluble Pd‐Imidate Complexes as Versatile Catalysts for the Modification of Unprotected Halonucleosides

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, Volume 22, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Three generations of neutral and anionic water‐soluble palladium complexes act as versatile catalysts for the modification of unprotected halonucleosides. Abstract Modification of unprotected nucleosides has been attracting continuous interest, since these building blocks themselves and their phosphate‐upgraded corresponding nucleotides have shown a ...
