OBJECTIVES: F100 is a fortified milk-based food used as a standard therapy for severe malnutrition. Our aim was to assess whether optimal combinations of local foods in Ghana, Bangladesh, and Latin America could achieve the nutrient density levels of ...

Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

The Effect of Nutrient Levels in Nutrient Cultures on the Translocation of Foliar Applied Nutrients
Since man first grew crops on calcareous soils he has probably been troubled with what we today call lime-induced chlorosis. This chlorosis has determined whether he grew certain desirable ornamentals or crops or whether he had to substitute others which were less desirable. Lime-induced chlorosis is spread world wide.

SUPPLEMENTARY FEEDING ON THE NUTRIENT BALANCE OF LACTATING DAIRY COW AT CONTRASTING TEMPERATURE REGIMES: ASSESSMENT USING CORNELL NET CARBOHYDRATE AND PROTEIN SYSTEM (CNCPS) MODEL [PDF]
Dairy cows often do not receive adequate nutrient supply during their lactation period. This condition can even be worse if the environmental temperature is not in comfortable range which may occur especially in tropical regions.
