Biodegradation of Ochratoxin A by Bacterial Strains Isolated from Vineyard Soils
Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a mycotoxin with a main nephrotoxic activity contaminating several foodstuffs. In the present report, five soil samples collected from OTA-contaminated vineyards were screened to isolate microorganisms able to biodegrade OTA.

The polyketide synthase gene An15g07920 was known in Aspergillus niger CBS 513.88 as putatively involved in the production of ochratoxin A (OTA). Genome resequencing analysis revealed that the gene An15g07920 is also present in the ochratoxin-producing A.

High-temperature drying of organically grown bread rye [PDF]
Mycotoxin producing fungi are naturally occurring components in cereals. When produced, some of the mycotoxins are toxic to humans and animals. Heat treatment is a method to reduce fungal abundance on cereals.

Use of OC curves in quality control with an example of sampling for mycotoxins [PDF]
An ‘operating characteristics’ (OC) curve is a simple tool that has been in use in quality control for many years but does not seem to be widely applied in the particulate sampling field.
