Safety and efficacy of the feed additives trans‐anethole and eugenol for use in all avian species (ADISSEO, ADM, AGOLIN (Ireland) Ltd, Cargill, DSM Nutritional Products Ltd., LABORATORIES PHODE, Norel S.A.)

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2025.
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of 1‐methoxy‐4‐(prop‐1‐(trans)‐enyl)benzene (trans‐anethole) and eugenol as sensory feed additives for all avian species. The additives are already authorised for use in all animal species except fish and poultry.

Optimal bounds for a Gaussian Arithmetic-Geometric type mean by quadratic and contraharmonic means [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In this paper, we present the best possible parameters $\alpha_i, \beta_i\ (i=1,2,3)$ and $\alpha_4,\beta_4\in(1/2,1)$ such that the double inequalities \begin{align*} \alpha_1Q(a,b)+(1-\alpha_1)C(a,b)&

Integrated risk assessment of selected mycotoxins in fresh produce and derived food products throughout the food chain, affected by climate changes and globalization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Fruits and vegetables are an important part of a healthy diet, and their consumption is expected to increase in the future because of health promotion.

Maps between non-commutative spaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2002
We examine maps between noncommutative projective spaces. A surjection of graded rings A-->A/J induces a closed immersion Proj(A/J)-->Proj(A). A homomorphism f:A-->B between graded rings induces an affine map U --> Proj(A) from a non-empty open subspace U of Proj(B). If A^{(n)} is the n-th Veronese subalgebra of a graded ring A there is a map Proj(A)-->

High-temperature drying of organically grown bread rye [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Mycotoxin producing fungi are naturally occurring components in cereals. When produced, some of the mycotoxins are toxic to humans and animals. Heat treatment is a method to reduce fungal abundance on cereals.

A steady smooth Euler flow with support in the vicinity of a helix [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this article we construct a smooth Euler flow supported in a neighborhood of a helix. It may be considered a generalization of a similar solution found by the author for a circle.

Use of OC curves in quality control with an example of sampling for mycotoxins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
An ‘operating characteristics’ (OC) curve is a simple tool that has been in use in quality control for many years but does not seem to be widely applied in the particulate sampling field.
