REVIEW ON OCULAR INSERT DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM

open access: yes, 2018
An ocular insert represents an advanced technology in eye disease therapy. Designing and development of an ocular insert is a challenge ever faced by Pharmaceutical researchers or manufacturer. In the ophthalmology; eye drop have ever found to be an easy

Formulating Resveratrol and Melatonin Self-Nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery Systems (SNEDDS) for Ocular Administration Using Design of Experiments

open access: yesPharmaceutics
Recent studies have demonstrated that Sirtuin-1 (SIRT-1)-activating molecules exert a protective role in degenerative ocular diseases. However, these molecules hardly reach the back of the eye due to poor solubility in aqueous environments and low ...

Semantic Modeling in Materials Science and Engineering With Platform MaterialDigital Core Ontology 3.0

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The community‐driven Platform MaterialDigital Core Ontology (PMDco) 3.0 is introduced as a Basic Formal Ontology‐aligned semantic backbone for the processing–structure–properties paradigm in Materials Science and Engineering. Modular engineering, automated releases, and validation workflows are highlighted and key semantic patterns for materials ...

Integration of OpenCV‐Based Microscopic Adhesive Volume Measurement Into a Pyiron Workflow for Automated Data Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Residual adhesive after electrode loading in adhesive‐assisted resistance spot welding is quantified through a traceable experimental‐to‐digital workflow. Chromatic confocal topography provides calibrated surface‐height data, while OpenCV detects the electrode imprint and integrates adhesive height into comparable volume metrics.

Uniform Amorphization of Crystalline Silicon Surfaces Enabled by Deep Ultraviolet Femtosecond Laser Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Deep‐UV (258 nm) femtosecond pulses enable uniform amorphous silicon writing on Si(100)/(111) with a six‐fold larger fluence amorphization window than NIR methods. Optimized fluence and overlap yield 20–45 nm uniform and continuous amorphous layers. Microscopy shows sharp interfaces, and real‐time reflectivity reveals nanosecond melt–resolidification ...

Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

Enhanced Ultrasound Transmission Through Aberration Layers Using Space‐Coiling Acoustic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Enhancing ultrasound transmission through an aberration layer exhibiting mismatched impedance with the surrounding medium possesses great implications in imaging and treatment. In this study, we show that a space‐coiling acoustic metamaterial with judiciously tailored structural profile can help improve impedance matching.

Architecture‐Driven Sensor Stability in Weft‐Knitted Engineering Textiles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Textile‐integrated sensor architectures are systematically compared to evaluate their electromechanical behavior under combined mechanical and environmental loading. Pocket‐based integration exhibits stable and reproducible signals, whereas tunnel‐based routing shows higher sensitivity accompanied by increased variability.

Comparative analysis of PLGA ocuserts of brimonidine tartrate prepared with different methods

open access: yesEuropean Pharmaceutical Journal
The eye is a highly sensitive organ with multiple physiological barriers that limit drug bioavailability and reduce patient compliance. Research studies are still going on to discover a novel drug delivery system for ocular delivery. The current research
